The Fortnightly Fudge

It seems we got away with about 23 days instead of the prescribed 14.

Sportnetwork must be slipping in their fortnightly game of cat and mouse, or are they just seeing sense for once given the lack of action outside the season?

Mind you, some seem to be able to get away with months of zero update, even clubs in, er, flux, so maybe we're now one of the chosen few? (Insert appropriate winky-smiley here should you desire).

To be serious, there's a lot more to worry about in rugby these days. The London Irish conflagration, should it turn into one, is just about to finally surface, which could potentially leave the PRL boys with their desired (maybe) 10 'elite' businesses with which to feed paymasters CVC.

What a parlous state we see the game reduced to. Some may say it's time for the vast majority of the game's membership to walk. I'm not so sure - but one thing is certain; too much more prevarication by the RFU mandarins could well result in pitchforks being sharpened.

The real clubs have put up with far too much for much too long.

It's going to be an interesting summer. We may even learn who we're playing against. And when.

Pah.
