Not quite what we were expecting, as Cov went down to a heavy defeat at Blackheath.
Not only did we take a bit of a beating, but the journey home for both the supporters' and the team buses took a hellishly long time to get back. Six-and-a-half hours for the team, I bet that was fun.
I wasn't there, so I won't try to make up a match report. I'll leave the bruising details to John Wilkinson in the Coventry Evening Telegraph, and John Butler on the official site.
There was at least one creditable action that came out of the day - Rowland Winter had the grace (and guts) to come onto the supporters' coach after the game to talk to the fans. That says a lot about the quality of the man, at least to me, and takes a little of the sting out of the scoreline.
