Coventry made it back-to-back maximum point wins in National League One with an ultimately convincing six-try win at struggling Cinderford.

The home side led twice in the opening quarter and were only 17-13 down at the break, but Cov assumed control in the second half and eased clear despite some unnecessary indiscipline and a tendency to force things too much.

Cov fell behind to an Angus Bowyer penalty inside two minutes but responded three minutes later with a well-worked try from Gaston Mieres, who started the scoring move inside his own half and finished it off in the right corner.

Bowyer landed a second penalty, but Cov were the dominant attacking force and they took a tight grip on the game with two tries in the space of five minutes from Ben Thomas and Matt Price, the second converted by Matt Jones.

Cinderford had the last word of the half when No.8 Matt Lane ran through the middle from 60 metres our, evading a succession of tackles to cross between the posts and leave Bowyer a simple conversion to peg their deficit to four points at the break, but Cov struck again soon after the restart with Peter Weightman claiming their bonus-point fourth try from an angled 45-metre run and Jones converting.
