The Coventry Rugby team has just been announced that is at home to Blaydon at the Butts Park Arena this coming Saturday 14th November with a 3pm kick off.

The team shows 10 changes including 1 positional from the starting line-up of the side that lost to Esher last week. New Uruguayan World Cup star Gaston Mieres makes his debut at full-back in place of Scott Hamilton, who goes onto the bench. There is a welcome return after injury for half-backs Matt Jones and Wayne Evans in place of Caolan Ryan and Harrison Lee-Everton, with Caolan Ryan going onto the bench. On the wing Peter Weightman replaces Nigel Baker.

Both locks Tom Poole and Danny Wright are retained, but there is a complete change in the front row with Andy Brown replacing Tipiloma Kivalu who goes onto the bench, with fellow prop Chad Thorne coming in for the injured Adam Parkins. At hooker Matt Price comes in from the bench to replace Jake Farnworth, with Devlin Hope replacing him on the bench after flu.

The back row sees Jacques Le Roux switching to No 8 in place of Dan Carpo who goes onto the bench, with Sam Pailor coming in at No 6. There is a recall for George Oliver in place of Alex Woodburn.

They come in, they go out, they come back in again.
Having said that, this team is more like last years.
No pressure to win on saturday!!! :-(

10 changes is on the face of it is too many, but after last week and with the injuries I really can't argue.

Like the look of this side.

With this team and a supportive crowd, we can beat Blaydon.

Strong pack and with the new guy in the back we look forward to some hard running and some feed to the wings.

Agree team is just about last year's these lads know each other should all play well together glad that have been given a chance to put us back on track hope they give it a real go good luck to the whole squad.

its not going to be a day for running rugby with rain and wind forecast. the forwards will need to gain control & secure our own scrum and line out ball. the half backs will need to kick well to put cov in the right field position-things not really achieved much this year!

It does look a better and more established selection but 10 changes this week and 9 last week? That's more than a whole team in two consecutive games. I do seriously wonder at the selection policy.
Having said that, Blaydon represent an opportunity for us to get the waggon back on the tracks and make progress for the rest of the season.
The weather does not look at all promising and will severely affect the style of play. But then, it's the same for both sides.
I'll be right behind Cov as ever and hoping and praying for a turnaround in our fortunes.

It was 10 changes as well last week at Esher Cliff. Ticknell who was selected was unable to play.

Fair cop, Mick.
It used to be said of Ron Greenwood when he was England football manager that he would throw a whole number of players into the air, and whichever eleven of them landed first would be the team. I have to say it seems a bit like that at the moment with CRFC.
And yet we have reverted to virtually the fifteen who played together for so much of last season. So what does that say about our scouting and recruitment policy?
Ye gods, I'm so much hoping for not just a win tomorrow but a good performance too.

Broadstreet have announced Courtney Roberts starting at 4, with Terry Sibley on the bench alongside Joe Foreman, for their trip up to Otley.

That should be match time for all of them.
