Coventry RFC head coach Scott Morgan declared himself ‘reasonably happy’ with Coventry’s opening day performance in a six-try win.
“We played some really good stuff in the first half, there was lots of discipline in what we were doing and we stuck nicely to the game plan which was reflected on the scoreboard,” he said.
“I was very pleased with that, and I guess it was understandable that after that we got a little bit loose in the second half.
“I think we tried to force it too much by trying to open it up a couple of phases too early and we lost some opportunities.
“But we felt quite comfortable and, from a coaching point of view, it was quite good to have a second half like that because it shows us things to improve on.
“I certainly thought we looked very strong in the first half and were really effective in the way we were playing and getting into our patterns.
