Jake Farnworth proves his all-round value to Coventry RFC

The versatility of recent recruit Jake Farnworth proved a real bonus for Coventry as they battled their way to a 17-13 win at Wharfedale last weekend.

The Leicester Academy hooker, who made his senior debut for the Premiership club earlier in the season in an LV=Cup game against London Irish, has come to the Butts Park Arena as a dual registered player to further his front row education after switching from his original position in the back row.

But he was called into action in his former role on Saturday when open side flanker George Oliver was injured on the half hour and put in an impressive shift for the remaining 50 minutes to help Cov claim their first ever win in the fixture.

“Jake did exceptionally well and we couldn’t have asked for more from him,” said head coach Scott Morgan. “He gave us great cover in a difficult situation.
