Oh bloody hell we've lost both wingers!! Not good timing, but I guess that's the joys of semi-pro rugby! :-(

Just also noticed no locks or back row cover, and 2 scrum halves! Is that right?

Interesting bench selections suggesting that although we have depth out at Broadstreet we are still lacking in strength in depth in some positions. Good to see Pierre getting another opportunity after working so hard while on DR at 'street.

And in one breath Obano is in, then Brown is in (?).

Personally, I would like to wish Rhys Williams all the very best on his debut for Cov on Saturday. Lets hope he fits in well with our squad, and hopefully he might even get a try or two. Good luck Rhys, and welcome to Coventry

Dan is just fine.. Although no one is as big a fan of his than you are egg... :-)
It just doesn't help continuity losing our 2 first choice wingers in one foul swoop!

Actually the more I think about it, how can the subs bench be correct? Where is the cover for locks and back row?

I am a big fan he is a great carrier of the ball and with a bit of a run in the team he might just turn a few heads. I know what you say about continuity but you have to have trust in the whole squad at times like this we will do good if the weather holds out.

Ok, Obano starting and Brown on the bench. Three players who provide front row cover, one of whom can provide back row cover, and if necessary push a back row up into the second row.
Of the backs, most of the more junior players have been signed across to Broadstreet rather than left as DR players, but Puerre has remained a DR and is recalled this week. It's presumably a call that he is a higher quality player even if needed out if position than re-signing one of the other young players back from Broadstreet.

good luck to the team. with the likely conditions and
unavailable players this will be real test. wharefedale are pretty strong at home and will wan tto perform having been thrashed at ealing last week. surprised scotts not on the bench to cover and add experience. hurrel a big miss for his ball carrying.

Scott limped off at Old Albanians with an ankle injury. I'm sure he would have at least been on the bench if fully fit.

That sounds very much like the situation yesterday afternoon when Phil Maynard sent out the preliminary email to the squad, and prior to the decisions about starters, replacements, and travelling reserves made at training last night.
