Following hard on the heels of the news that Cliffie Hodgson and Tom Poole had been signed on for another season, Coventry Rugby are delighted to announce that two more key players, hooker Chris Locke and centre Callum Macburnie have also been retained, with more expected retentions to be known shortly.
Chris Locke aged 24 came to Coventry Rugby at the start of this season after 3 seasons with Championship side Bedford Blues. A mobile and fast hooker Chris has started 16 matches with a further 5 as a replacement and has scored 5 tries.A very consistent performer who has not lost the art of hooking .This is another important re-signing by Coventry Rugby of an increasingly influential player.
Callum MacBurnie also aged 24 initially came to Coventry Rugby, also from Championship side Moseley on loan 2 seasons ago. Signing permanently for Coventry Rugby at the start of last season Callum played the majority of games. Unfortunately after looking impressive in pre-season, Callum sustained an injury which kept him out for some time. After a recent spell on loan at Nuneaton to get match fit he was re-called to the Coventry side and has appeared in the past 4 games, scoring 1 try. A solid hard working and tackling centre Callum has now signed a 2 season contract at Coventry Rugby.
