The Coventry Rugby team to face Richmond at home at the Butts Park Arena this Saturday 4^th January 2014, kick off 3 pm has just been announced.

It contains 4 changes in the starting line-up that won away at Cinderford , together with two further positional changes. In the backs Barry Davies is back at full-back allowing Cliffie Hodgson to resume his centre role in place of James Otutaha.

There are three changes amongst the forwards plus a positional one, as Danny Wright resumes his lock position allowing Brett Daynes to revert to No 6. Gareth Turner returns from Broadstreet coming in for Matt Tibbatts, with Chris Locke taking his place as captain. Chad Thorne moves in from the bench to replace Tim Ryan who takes his place there.

On the replacements there are three further changes as Northampton Academy dr player Reece Marshall comes in for Matt Price and Geré Mareé in for Matt Hubbart whilst there is a welcome recall after injury for Callum MacBurnie in place of Alex Smit.

Otutaha - Good performance from Knox on his first outing at Cinderford, plus returning Davies at FB, with the need to keep Cliffie on the pitch as kicker, all combined with Callum back to fitness. Only room for three centres in the 20.

Tibbatts - Trickier to judge. Return of Danny Wright to second row puts Daynes back where ought to be in the back row. Then it gets tricky - my guess is the feeling is that with Daynes back, and wanting to let Gareth Turner get a run out , that it's a question of back row balance.

In the end it comes back to in both cases having people coming back to fitness.

Matt Tibbatts received a thumb injury during the last game which became infected.
He should resume training next week.

given the likely windy wet conditions for tomorrow i would have thought outataha should be starting. on a day when ther eis likely to be forwrds taking the ball up our fly half/inside centre looks a little lightweight.yes hodgson is our best goal kickerbut perhaps better at 15 for this game?

CT article mainly about Matt Tibbatt's injury also says the following

"And with Jacques Le Roux and Sam Pailor not expected back until later this month from long-term injuries, Liam Munro suffering a recurrence of an ankle problem at training this week and dual-registered Leicester flanker Ed Milne not available, it means a National League One debut for Gareth Turner, who has been recalled from a loan spell at Broadstreet."

Been out of the country for most of December, so I,m really looking forward to tomorrow's game. It's great to see Callum McBurnie back in the match day squad. Wrap up well tomorrow folks and let's hope a great performance from Cov will help to keep us warm.Come on Cov.
