Hull City fans prayers have been answered as Stuart Elliott looks certain to return to the team to face Wrexham tomorrow after a six week lay-off with a fractured cheekbone.

A devout Christian, the Northern Ireland international has been nicknamed "the Saint" by certain section of the Hull faithful and the Tiger nation are hoping he can pick up where he left off and re-ignite their promotion campaign.

Its been no coincidence that during Elliott's absence City have only been able to win 1 match in 7 attempts. The winger was in scintillating form before the injury scoring 23 goals in 27 games from his wide left position, and his uncanny ability to hit the back of the net this season has covered up the disappointing contribution made by the Tigers main strikers.

Indeed the lack of goals from his fellow front men has forced Peter Taylor to enter the transfer market once again, and this week saw a failed attempt to sign Craig Fagan from Colchester, "Stuart has trained for the last couple of days and provided there's no reaction, he will be in the starting line-up which is great news."

Meanwhile Elliott has asked the fans to be patient: "Obviously, I'd love to play and if I had a message to the fans it would be please, please don't expect any miracles."
