Neil Warnock is close to finally sealing the signing of Dutch striker Laurens Ten Heuvel from Telstar.
Ten Heuvel is locked in talks with The Blades and looks poised to put pen to paper.
The deal appeared to be in jeopardy earlier this week when Telstar increased their asking price amid interest from Dutch rivals Roda JC.
However, it is understood that an agreement has been reached, with United paying a fee based on the 26-year-old's progress at Bramall Lane and the deal will go through if Ten Heuvel accepts the personal terms on offer.
Ten Heuvel had a previous spell in South Yorkshire as a youngster when he was at Barnsley but returned to Holland after failing to make an impact and he will surely relish a second chance to play in English football.
