United are reported to be showing an interest in Grimsby Town star Danny Butterfield who has just turned down a new deal. The Boston-born utility player is currently open to offers after turning down new terms to stay at Blundell Park.

Butterfield, who is a product of the Town youth system, is said to be disappointed that Grimsby did not offer better terms and, although he has indicated that he would like to stay, he may be forced to move on elsewhere after the loss of television money into The Mariners' coffers.
