Since arriving at Deepdale from Bury, striker David Nugent has been an instant hit both on the pitch and with the PNE faithfull. Manager Billy Davies now gives his verdict on the youngster.

"He's a young lad and a great finisher and we know he can cause teams problems.

"He knows himself that he's got so much work ahead of him and he's just got to keep his feet on the ground and remember these things and I'm sure that the players around him will keep him right.

"Sometimes as a young player you can get carried away but we certainly won't let that happen to him.

"He's a natural goalscorer and we've seen that already. It's a gift not many players get and we're just delighted that he's shown he can handle this level very well.

"He knows he's done nothing yet and he's got to keep trying to improve and hopefully in the future we can see him go on and play at a higher level."
