Frank Lampard pulled out of training complaining of a "tight hamstring" according to The Football Association. The midfielder has now been ruled out of England's friendly against Uruguay at Anfield tonight. Lampard's place will be taken by Michael Carrick of Spurs. It has been confirmed that Darren Bent will win his first cap. Bent starts alongside Wayne Rooney up front.

Wayne Bridge will replace the injured Ashley Cole at left back and David Beckham has shaken off a back injury to take his place as captain.

Steven Gerrard will start, despite Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez's expressing concerns about his fitness.
