Motherwell manager Terry Butcher was stunned when he heard club captain Scott Leitch needs an operation on his knee.


Midfielder Leitch could be missing for several weeks and miss Motherwell's crucial relegation battles when the split comes into effect. Leitch limped off minutes into the 2 - 1 over Hibs a few weeks ago but suprisingly Motherwell won three matches in a row plus put in a great performance at Tynecastle despite losing last weekend without our key player.

The SPL have announced they will allow Celtic to play the re-arranged fixture at Fir Park after the split due to the Parkhead side still competing in the UEFA Cup. It will now take place on Wednesday April 16 at 7.45pm and will be shown live on pay-per-view television.
