Penney: Playoffs Over…Again

Doncaster Manager Dave Penney has stated, and not for the first time this season, that he believes Rovers playoff hopes are over.

Despite complete domination in the first half, Rovers went in a goal down but should have had maybe 3 themselves.

Lewis Guy did grab an equaliser with his first goal for the club but it was a must-win game for Doncaster and a point was admittedly for Penney, not enough.

Penney said:

"I thought our promotion play-off hopes were over several times already but other teams keep losing and making us think we are back in with a shout," Penney said. "But that looks to be it for now although I'll wait and see what the results are like on Saturday before writing us off.

"This game was typical of what has cost us all season and that has been we've drawn too many home games.

"They set their stall out to frustrate us with the way they played and we were not quite on top of our game and bright enough to open them up until the second half."
