Blundell Cost Too Much

By Nick Raynor

Chester Manager Ian Rush admitted the reason for not bidding for Gregg Blundell in the transfer window was the high asking price.

The Liverpool legend stated he was interested in the Doncaster striker and may look to sign him in the summer.

Rush said:

"Blundell at Doncaster was one we had a look at but they wanted too much for him,"

Blundell may leave Rovers to fund the transfer for a top-quality striker that John Ryan and Dave Penney are searching for.

But Penney may be reluctant to sell the forward after his performance against Tranmere on Monday.
