Reds deserved their win

Rafael Benitez says that Liverpool ‘s win against Anderlecht was fully deserved. He also had praise for Djibril Cisse’s 20th minute strike which proved to be the only goal of the game which finished 1-0 for the European Champions. He said:

"Djib did very well. It was a good goal, the keeper had no chance, and it's good for him to keep scoring. The fact that the goal came from a set-piece was extra pleasing and we must do this more often.

"It was a difficult game. We created a lot of opportunities, I think we had 18 shots in total, but couldn't score a second goal that would have killed them off.

"We controlled the first half but were under pressure for quite a bit in the second half when Anderlecht played some good football going forward.

"Overall though it was a really good result and maybe one more win will be enough for us now to qualify."
