Benitez says 'No Complacency'

Rafael Benitez insists that his team will treat Kaunas with respect they prepare for their second round qualifier Champions League match. The Champions of Europe are favourites to go through to the next round but Rafa says they can’t afford to be complacent.

He said:

“Yes, we are favourites, but we need to demonstrate that on the pitch," says the Reds boss ahead of the 2nd qualifying round first leg tie.

"In football you must have a lot of respect for the opposition. We will play to win and want to do our best. We do not know what to expect. We have seen some videos and some reports but we need to play against them to know what they are like.

"When we played the first game against TNS people said that it would be easy for us. But we didn't say that. We are playing against a team we do not know much about so before the game we must be careful. It is our job to make the game easy for ourselves."
