Anfield legend, Joey Jones, looks forward with anticipation to the Wrexham v Liverpool friendly at the Racecourse Ground Saturday coming. Joey who is a first team coach for the Robins, recently wrote his autobiography entitled ‘Oh Joey, Joey’ and is relishing the prospect of the European Champions coming to the Racecourse Ground. He’s always maintained his great affection for the Reds and is grateful for the support they’ve always given Wrexham.

Joey said:

"I can't wait for Saturday. I've actually got a book signing in Llandudno in the morning, which was arranged before the game was. So I'll be dashing down straight after that," says Joey.

"It'll be great for our supporters to see the European champions. And I'm sure the Liverpool fans cannot wait to see the LDV Trophy winners either!"

This fixture couldn't have come at a better time for the cash-strapped League Two club and Jones is appreciative of the help Liverpool have given Wrexham.

"The link between the clubs is very strong, especially with our Centre of Excellence," he adds. "Liverpool's chief executive Rick Parry's son plays here and they've been very helpful in helping Steve Weaver and Steve Cooper develop it.

"We've needed their help more than ever because of the situation we've found ourselves in and I know people here are very grateful for all they've done."
