In an interview given to liverpoolfc.tv, Bayer Leverkusen defender, Brazilian ace Roque Junior, targets Liverpool’s Milan Baros as the main threat to his sides Champions League hopes. He believes if they contain Milan the German side will beat Liverpool and progress to the next round. Leverkusen have shown some good form of late and go in to this match full of confidence from a 4-2 win over FC Nuremburg taking them to fourth in the Bundesliga.

Roque Junior said: "Milan Baros will be the key man and we must mark him at all times. Personally I am optimistic and I believe that Leverkusen are the favourites.

"Bayer Leverkusen has fewer famous names than other clubs of the Champions League but we make up for it with hard work and we are ready to go a long way in Europe.

"Our defence has been together for a long time and Liverpool are going to have to sweat blood to score a goal. It is good news for us that Morientes does not play because I know him well and he has brought me many bad memories! It's one problem less for us."

Roque Junior believes the recent critisim of Liverpool has been very harsh and says the injuries that have englufed Anfield this season has been a big problem.

He added: "I do not rely too much on stories that say Liverpool are in the worst state for many years. They have suffered many injuries and it has broken their rhythm this season but we face 180 difficult minutes of football.

"Although Steven Gerrard appears to be their engine any player in their side can give us a problem. However, I still think we can go through. To play the return leg in Germany is positive for us but we want a decisive result at Anfield. It would be an enormous step to win at Liverpool."
