Rafa surprised by Neill comments

Unusually for Liverpool, chief executive Rick Parry and now manager Rafa Benitez, have both come out in denial of Lucas Neills allegation that he'd spoken to no-one of importance at Liverpool Football Club.

Neill, who earlier this week signed for West Ham, said that Liverpool hadn’t made him feel truly wanted and that he hadn’t actually spoken to Rafa Benitez..

The Liverpool manager said today:

"He knows that isn’t true,his comments were a surprise because when I spoke to him he was telling me different things. At the end of the day, if he didn’t have enough passion to come here then maybe it’s better for us."
