After midfielder John Mullin arrived this morning at Prenton Park, Rovers Manager Ronnie Moore has made it two in a day by completing the signing of striker Gareth Taylor on a two year contract.

The 33 year old striker scored against Rovers for Nottingham Forest at the City Ground last season to give Forest a 1-0 win but he most recently spent the last four months of the season on loan at Crewe Alexandra where he scored 4 times in 15 appearances.

Taylor began his career as a trainee at Southampton before moving to Bristol Rovers.  After a four year spell at Rovers, Crystal Palace played £1.25 million to take him to Selhurst Park and he has since had spells at Sheffield United, Manchester City, Port Vale, QPR and Burnley before moving to Forest in 2003.

The arrival of Taylor may well signal the end for Delroy Facey who has been linked with a move to Port Vale in recent weeks.  Facey has been released by Ronnie Moore once before when the current Rovers Boss first took over at Boundary Park as Oldham Manager.
