Today, Tranmere learnt there Carling Cup First Round opponents. Out of a possible 18 teams, Tranmere are playing newly promoted League One outfit Scunthorpe United away.

Thankfully, Rovers have missed out on possible clashes against Championship giants such as, Preston and Burnley, due to Tranmere bein a seeded team in the First Round Draw.

The tie brings former Rover, Richard Hinds, back to see his former team mates, in what should be a great game ahead.

The games will be played on either Tuesday 23rd August or Wednesday 24th August at Glanford Park, Scunthorpe.
