After over a week of voting it’s striker James Norwood who wins our Goal of the Month Award for October for his super header away at Forest Green Rovers....  

There were, yet again, a few decent contenders, but the result of our October Goal of the Month Award can now be confirmed.  After almost ten days of voting, you have voted that James Norwood's goal in the fantastic 2-0 away win at then League leaders Forest Green Rovers is your October Goal of the Month.

The headed finish (which can be seen on the video clip below), was arguably worthy of the award in it's own right but the build up to the goal featured a number of passes between the Rovers players before Lois Maynard's pinpoint cross was met by Norwood and gave the Forest Green goalkeeper no chance despite his best efforts - an all round great team goal!

By taking the honours for October, Norwood has now made it two Goals of the Month in the past two months following his solo effort at home to Chester in mid-September which also won him our monthly award.

Of the five contenders in October, only Johnny Margett's great first time finish at home to Bromley in Rovers' 4-0 win failed to poll any votes which is perhaps a little surprising give the quality of that goal.

As you can see from the poll result below, Norwood's winning strike polled 38% of the overall vote with Andy Mangan's second half goal against Wrexham and Gary Taylor-Fletcher's debut opener against Forest Green coming in joint second with 25% of the vote each.  Andy Mangan's second nominated strike in that thrashing of Bromley at Prenton Park come fourth with 13% of the overall vote.
