  In our latest Man of the Match vote of the season which related to last Saturday’s thrilling 2-0 away win over League leaders Forest Green Rovers, we can reveal that it was debutant goal scorer Gary Taylor-Fletcher whom you voted as your Man of the Match.....    

 After a full week of voting following Tranmere's wonderful 2-0 away win against League leaders Forest Green Rovers, we can now reveal that the Man of the Match for Tranmere's performance, as voted for by you the fans and readers of this site, was debutant goal scorer Gary Taylor-Fletcher who edged a tight vote to take the award at the first attempt.

Taylor-Fletcher got his Rovers career and Tranmere’s day, off to a blistering start when he scored his debut goal in just the fifth minute of the game before strike partner James Norwood, who had assisted Taylor-Fletcher’s early goal, then got on the scoresheet himself with a brilliant header from Lois Maynard’s cross to make it 2-0 to Rovers midway through the first half.

Despite waking up for a ten minute spell at the end of the first half, the expected second half onslaught from the League leaders failed to materialise in the second half and Rovers comfortably went home with all three points thanks to a 2-0 victory.

As you can see from the poll below, Taylor-Fletcher took the honour with just 32% of the vote (7 votes) with Liam Ridehalgh a close second with 27% of the vote (6 votes). Adam Mekki, who arguably had his best game so far in a Rovers shirt over ninety minutes, was third with 23% of the vote (5 votes) which meant only two votes separated the top three on this occasion – probably the closest vote we’ve had so far this season.

As much of the voting went to the top three, it resulted in only three other players polling any votes at all. James Norwood who got a goal and an assist in the game, only polled 9% of the overall vote (2 votes) whilst Steven Jennings and Lois Maynard polled 1 vote each which amounted to 5% each of the overall vote.
