  In our latest Man of the Match vote of the season which related to last Tuesday evening’s 1-0 home defeat to Barrow, we can reveal that it was returning starter Liam Ridehalgh who polled the most votes to take the Award.....  

After a full week of voting following Tranmere's bitterly disappointing home defeat to Barrow last Tuesday evening, we can now reveal that the Man of the Match for Tranmere's performance, as voted for by you the fans and readers of this site, was returning starter Liam Ridehalgh who polled the most votes to take the Award on a night when there weren’t too many contenders.

In case you need reminding, the game was a dull affair throughout, with the visitors arguably being one of the poorest sides to visit Prenton Park so far this season. Despite this they took the lead with their only chance of the game after Steven Jennings seemed to be to easily barged off the ball.

Rovers just couldn’t respond and a sloppy, hoof-ball affair continued for the majority of the game and Rovers just could not get the response they perhaps deserved after having much the better of an admittedly dull second half.

You Voted Liam Ridehalgh as the Man of the Match at Home to Barrow

As you can see from the poll below, Ridehalgh, who was playing on the left side of midfield in place of the injured Adam Dawson, polled 36% of the 25 votes cast (9 votes) whilst Matt Hill came a relatively close second place with 28% of the vote (7 votes).  

Very rarely out of the top three so far this season, it was midfielder Jay Harris who again made the podium with 16% of the vote (4 votes) being enough to take third place. Three other players polled votes for the Barrow game with Ritchie Sutton and Adam Mekki both polling 8% of the vote (2 votes each) and James Norwood polling just one vote (4% of the vote).
