We take a look at how Rovers’ youngsters are doing whilst currently out on loan.....  

With five of Rovers’ young professionals currently out on loan from the Club, we thought we would bring you a round up of last weekends matches involving the players and their team.

Midfielder Ben Jago, who was one of four of last season’s youth side who signed professional this summer, is currently out on loan at Hyde United FC who were relegated at the end of last season from the Conference North to the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division.

Last weekend, Jago completed his third successive 90 minutes in a 4-1 away win at Ramsbottom United having previously played the full games in a defeat in his first game and then a draw. Jago has not been on the scoresheet from midfield as yet for Hyde.

Jago’s fellow new professional Mitch Duggan has also made three appearances on loan so far since joining Crosby based side Marine who are also in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League. Duggan, who can play in midfield or at the back, joined Marine on a month long loan deal in mid August and came on as a 70^th minute substitute in Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Nantwich Town.

The game was tied at 1-1 when Duggan entered the game in place of Lloyd Ellams but Marine went on to lose the game 2-1. In previous appearances, Duggan came on in the 87^th minute in a 0-0 home draw with Ashton United and was a 78^th minute substitute for Lewis Codling in another 0-0 draw in his first Marine appearance away at Salford.

Duggan’s Marine side meet Ben Jago’s Hyde United this weekend in a clash of the Rovers loanees so both players may well come up against each other at some point in the game.

Goalkeeper Sam Ramsbottom and defender Evan Gumbs are both currently out on loan at another Evo-Stik Northern Premier side Burscough but it is unknown whether they played any part in this weekend’s 1-1 away draw at Ossett Albion.

The other newly signed professional from the youth team is goalkeeper Luke Pilling and he has today joined the other loanees in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League by joining Trafford FC on loan for a month.
