Rovers Sign Goalkeeper Davies

Tranmere’s shortage of an experienced goalkeeper has today been covered as stopper Scott Davies signs for Rovers….
Tranmere have today confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Scott Davies to finally add some shot-stopping experience to the Rovers squad and add to young keepers Sam Ramsbottom and newly signed professional Luke Pilling.
The 28 year-old has signed a one-year contract with Rovers after it was announced that he had left League One side Fleetwood Town earlier today.
Davies, who stands at 6 feet tall, began his career with Morecambe and made his first team debut at the age of 18. In his second season with the Shrimps, he helped the club to promotion into the Football League via the Conference Play-Off Final.

After five years at Morecambe he made the short move to nearby Fleetwood Town and after reaching the Conference Play-Offs in his first season there in which they were ultimately defeated, Davies then played a huge part in helping Town to the Conference title in his second campaign at the club.
He was also then a part of the Fleetwood squad which was subsequently promoted into League One in 2013-14 but after 170 appearances for the Club, Davies had loan spells last season in League Two at both Morecambe and Accrington Stanley, making 29 appearances in total in League Two for the two Clubs.
Speaking of the signing of Davies, Rovers Manager Gary Brabin told the Tranmere Rovers Official Website…
“I’m delighted to bring Scott to the Club. He’s a good character and an excellent goalkeeper. He’s hardworking and possesses a great attitude, plus he knows this League and the one above really well so he’s a welcome addition to the squad.”
Total Tranmere would like to welcome Scott to the Club and wish him well during his time at Prenton Park.

Got to bode well for Tranmere next season. G.B is certainly working hard finding players who have experienced what it takes to get out of the Conference.
Hopefully a few more quality acquisitions over the next couple of weeks and we'll be good to go?
So far things are looking far better than they have for a long time, both on and off the field.
So he made 30 appearances in total last year for Morecombe and Accrington? Did he play at all for Fleetwood?

He had a dip in form,which can happen to any player. He was highly regarded at Morecombe when back on loan which futher suggests it was just a temporary dip. Morecombe wanted to keep him but could not afford his wage
That's not a question aimed at you, just an observation.
As long as he plays well for Tranmere he can have made many howlers for a previous team, as they won't make any difference to Tranmere.
Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.
He can make 5 howlers, which fonners should have easily saved if he wants, because as long as he can command and dominate the box, then he will save us some of the goals we have conceded over the last few seasons.

he`s won 2 promotions, you don`t get promoted out of any division with a poor goalkeeper, he`ll do for me
As we know, any mistake a goalkeeper makes usually leads to a goal.
After the first few games, we should have a better idea if we have a better all round keeper than OFW.

I'm sure he'll be a decent keeper as G.B will have seen every keeper at Conference level over the past few years, he's chosen Davies to come and be his keeper which must mean he has more to offer than most of the others?
Plus Davies has won 2 promotions too.
Fon Williams on the other hand has the misfortune of 2 relegations on his C.V.
