Tranmere Man of the Match: Burton Albion (H)

Your chance to vote for your Tranmere Man of the Match from Saturday afternoon's dismal home defeat to Burton Albion.......

As Tranmere were brought back down to earth after being thrashed 4-1 at home by League leaders Burton Albion, we are asking you to vote for you Tranmere Man of the Match from the game as part of our post-match poll series.

After recording a much needed win away at Cambridge United on Tuesday evening, it was back to normality for Rovers on Saturday as defensive failings and a missed penalty resulted in a terrible 4-1 scoreline against Burton.

There looked to be no way back for Rovers after going 2-0 down inside 22 minutes thanks to goals from McCrory and former Rover Lucas Akins but Kayode Odejayi scored a wonder goal before half-time to half the Brewers lead.

The turning point in the game was Max Power's failure to convert yet another penalty and from there Burton added two more goals including an own goal by Adam Dugdale at the death to make it 4-1 at full-time.

To vote for you Man of the Match from the game simply vote on the poll on THIS LINK.

The tranmere man who had the biggest influence on the game today was the person who decided to water the pitch before the start and also at half time. What should have been perfect conditions..dry & sunny...was made a mess with everyone slipping and sliding all over the place.I can't for the life of me understand the logic behind this idea....it certainly hasn't helped us this season!

This vote is being ruined for many by those who vote for the same player[usually Dugdale] after every match come what may.

N.B.The sentence above has in no way been influenced by the fact that his very late own goal has cost me two points in the Prediction League.

Odejayi I thought had a decent enough game but, what a goal!!!

Laird again fully committed until subbed.

So Odejayi for me.

You can in some occasions. There's probably teams who have lost 4-3 but had 3 goals scored by the same person and therefore I would think such a person would be entitled to a man of the match award.

Losing shouldn't disqualify someone, but I don't think Saturday's game necessarily warranted an award for a Tranmere player.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

The home team always have a MOTM for some unfathomable reason no matter what the score.
