Centre-back Adam Dugdale wins the Total Tranmere Man of the Match Award for the midweek home game against Wycombe Wanderers......
After another period of shortened voting as a result of Tranmere playing Tuesday and then tomorrow, it can now be confirmed that you, the fans, voted recently signed centre-back Adam Dugdale as your Tranmere Rovers Man of the Match for Tuesday night's 2-1 home defeat to promotion chasing Wycombe Wanderers.
Although the defence leaked two goals on the night, Dugdale appears to be the player that has stood out for the voting users of this site amongst what was admittedly a team full of poor performances on Tuesday evening as Rovers couldn't recover from two first half goals going in against them even against Wycombe's ten men late on in the game.
As you can see from the poll below, despite an extremely poor game and a disappointing result for Rovers, we had a record number of votes cast for one game since we started reviewing the poll results each week although this is the first home game for which such publication of results has taken place.
With only two of the starting eleven players not receiving any votes (McGahey and Jennings), the results were quite close but Dugdale polled 19% of the vote with just one vote more than both Danny Holmes and Lee Molyneux whilst Marc Laird and Michael Ihiekwe were just one vote further back.
Stay tuned on Sunday morning for your chance to vote for your Tranmere Man of the Match for the vital home game against Dagenham & Redbridge which takes place at 3pm on Saturday with the results of that poll to be announced prior to the away trip to in form Northampton Town the following Saturday.
