Rovers Legend Goodison's Testimonial Date Set

Tranmere's Jamaican Legend to get long-awaited Testimonial Game in early May.....
Prior to Tuesday night's home defeat to Wycombe Wanderers, Tranmere announced that Rovers Legend Ian Goodison will finally get the Testimonial game he deserves and one which the Rovers fans have waited for for a long time.
The former Jamaican international defender, now aged 42, will get his Testimonial on Monday 4th May, just two days after the 2014/15 League Two season comes to an end when Rovers host Bury on the final day.
Goodison joined Rovers in February 2004, reuniting him with his former Manager at Hull City, Brian Little and he made his debut in a 1-1 draw away at Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park. Little did the Rovers fans know back then that Goodison's association with Tranmere Rovers would go on to last ten years before he finally retired at the end of the 2013/14 season last May.
According to Tranmere's Official Website, the Testimonial match is set to feature an Ian Goodison International All-Stars Team which will come up against a team of former Tranmere players who played for the Club alongside the great man. No details of either teams line-ups are available at this stage but the committee hope to have an exciting line-up for the game. Total Tranmere will bring you the news on the squads nearer the time as it is made available.

Tickets for the game are priced at £10 for Adults and £5 for Under 17's and tickets will initially be on sale for the Main Stand, Paddocks and Cowsheds with further stands potentially to be opened subject to demand. Tickets go on sale next Monday, 9th March and will be available from the Club Shop/Ticket Office and also online at www.trfctickets.co.uk.
Tranmere Suite tickets will be priced at £16, the Warwick Rimmer Vice Presidents' Suite will be £18 and the Dixie Dean Suite will be £30. Tickets for all the Suites for this game will be limited and Tranmere are advising that refreshments will only be served in the Dixie Dean Suite to keep costs to a minimum.

The Testimonial Committee have expressed their thanks to the Club for their support and have announced that fans can keep up to date with details about the match on Twitter by following @GoodysGame.

Even at his age, I agree, he could have done a job for us as part of the squad this season. One thing is certain opposing forwards would know they had been in a game.

Great news indeed. Let's just hope that the game two days before isn't one of the worst moments in Tranmere's history - that would really but a downer on the occasion for sure.
