A quick look at some of the football betting odds for this weekend as the top two divisions take a week off......
With the underwhelming weekend known as the international break upon us, there is less football to bet on, however, that does not mean that there is no money to be made.
With the lack of Premiership and Championship action, the Conference Premier plays a big role in this weeks recommended treble. First up, it's Forest Green v Wrexham. Forest Green are joint title favourites @ 6/1 but I suspect that the playoffs are a far more realistic prospect for the Gloucestershire side. I think Wrexham will nick this match (They are @ 14/5 to do so)
Secondly in this treble is a draw. Draws always provide decent prices for the punters and the Eastleigh v Southport is no exception. Because of strong financial backing, Eastleigh are being tipped for a second successive promotion (which I think is too much to expect from them) but Southport have developed a reputation for frustrating opposing teams at times and I think this game has a draw (3/1) written all over it.
The final part of this treble relies on Scunthorpe United winning at unbeaten Bristol City (4/1) which on paper seems very unlikely, however, I am thinking that City's unbeaten run will come to an end and 4/1 is surprisingly generous odds.
So to round up, my recommended treble is:
Bristol City v Scunthorpe - AWAY WIN
Eastleigh v Southport - DRAW
Forest Green v Wrexham - AWAY WIN
A £2 stake repays £152 which is excellent odds for a treble. It's an optimistic one, but one that I think could pay off.
In terms of other possible bets, Mansfield to win 3-2 at Exeter is 33/1 which I think could be a winner although, as with correct scores, they don't provide the most exciting value.
Tranmere of course travel to Accrington Stanley. Many supporters stick to a policy of not betting on their team all together although if you were looking to put on a wager for this game, my tip would be a Cole Stockton/ Tranmere 2-1 scorecast.
Above Odds may vary in other Bookies. Please gamble responsibly.
