Rovers Earn Credible Draw at the Hands of Carlisle United

Tranmere earn a point after a bore draw with Carlisle United...
On a day that saw Jean Louis Akpa Akpro and Matthew Pennington return to Rovers, supporters were a little more optimistic when entering the match in which Rovers needed all 3 points to move away from the dreaded relegation zone. The first fifteen minutes of the game saw Rovers spark into life creating chance after chance including an Akpa Akpro header whic was cleared off the line by Carlisle defender Chris Chantler and Jake Cassidy hitting the post. However, after this quick flurry of chances and neat play the game descended and the spark was lost.
Jake Cassidy came closest to breaking the deadlock for Rovers when his curled effort hit the post.
After a dull ending to the first half Rovers started the second just as they did the first, again creating a number of chances with Jake Cassidy forcing keeper Jordan Pickford into a save with a powerful left hand shot. Leeds loanee Gboly Ariyibi came on for Jake Kirby and four minutes later curled a shot over with his left foot from the edge of the area. In the first minute of added time Cumbrians striker Gary Madine came close to wrapping up all three points when his shot was fired over the crossbar.

I agree it was the wrong choice of wording in my opinion but this is a young writer who has offered to help out the site when no-one else would so go easy on him!!
