If you can't make Tranmere's game at home to Notts County on Saturday afternoon, why not join in the banter right here with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend...
Following football even at League One level is pretty expensive these days and no matter how much you love the Rovers, it will sometimes be difficult to make the games in person whether it be the lengthy away trips, or for exiles living elsewhere in the UK or abroad, the home games too. As a result, for those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, we at Total Tranmere will be providing this match discussion thread for you to discuss developments with the game.
Tranmere of course, host Notts County on Saturday afternoon in Sky Bet League One, so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on? You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been to watch the game live. What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

all depends. on team/formations. if the same old, nothing more than a draw
This is just the sort of game that for the last 18 months we have bottled.County is undoubtedly a poor team, but how often this season have we made teams on a bad run look good?
In part it is a negative tactical approach but this can also be combined with a defence that is always capable of gifting a goal. Notts County should be 3 vital points to stay in touch with the pack and an opportunity to detach them. On the other hand any team must look at a game at prenton park as the best opporunity that they will have all season of picking up a win.
The pattern of the last year suggests a draw

Stockton on bench again .mcmahon you realy are a cluless bloody fool .you got a any idea at all i think not

Just think what we could have won by if Steve M wasn't so clueless ;0) Guess it makes a change from Ronnie being clueless even if it was his team out there. Oh and Les being clueless. And Brian.
What a difference when they put the effort in. Superb result, and i'll remember that Jenno goal forever i reckon!! 😊

Jennings' goal was an absolute screamer-what was surprising was his muted celebration. I'd be surprised if he has ever[or will ever]score a better one.
Good battling display Lowe and Ash were outstanding for me, as was Wallace and Koumas before going off.
High tempo and pressing brought our good spells, low tempo and sitting off like 2nd half nearly got us in trouble.
Was a great win but a very average performance imo, they're a very poor side especially at the back.
Thought cassidy struggled a little again although can't fault the effort of the lad.
Huge win and hopefully gives some confidence to our play in the next game.

We just need to put back to back wins together and tighten up at the back ..its still in our hands we are not relying on othrr results yet .but will we learn if we stay up or will it be same old problems again next season .we do need to see some changes in the club .as much as ronnie has done for tranmere we do need fresh ideas fresh faces and old wood remived .why wont the club go for a young fresh manager rather than the same old well he used to play for us and well he was here before.ronnie and his staff are not the answere .look at there record since feb last year its bloody awfall . maybe we should have gone for someone like martin allen when we had the chance . I think its time we took a chance on a new up and comming manager .we cant do any worse and just maybe fresh faces fresh ideas will work for us .thete is good younger managers out there .so lets take a chance and go for one

Totally agree, Wallace seemed to be "up" for the game and everything he tried more or less worked, we lost all drive from CM when he went, and Koumas wide worked (who would have thought ey JMc.....he should have been there vs Oldham!!!!)
Robbo, bar the one lung busting run forward for the goal did do enough for me, he was the fresh legs and meant to e wide left (I think?) but didn't play wide enough or high enough up the pitch for me,
What struck me listening to the goals as I drive home from PP was how Jenno was involved in the build up to most of them- his contribution yday and in recent games can't be underestimated.
Fonners flatters to deceive - a howler and then a pen save all in the first 45mins, I'd like to think big Jase could have stopped one of those 2 too...he still doesn't command the 6yrd box let alone the 18yrd box, I'd like to see him come and claim crosses more - do the coaching staff actually bother trying to train him in the week as he seems to make the same mistakes week in week out?!
All in all, a fair result but hopefully the 2 injuries aren't too serious

I agree , the game really changed when we lost Wallace especially. I thought the defence looked more ropey than of recent times, Ridehalgh and Worrey made a lot of mistakes, and Fonners had a bit of an off day. Robbo chased the ball and won it a lot which helped spur us on. That little winger they had was quite dangerous, and we couldnt seem to deal with him at all?

Thought Campbell-Rice was superb for them. Ran our defence ragged and nothing was a lost cause to him. Having played for 11 clubs I would imagine he's knocking on a bit but for total commitment to the cause he cannot be faulted. Wish we had him.
Yeah I agree about Campbell-Ryce I thought he was their Man of the Match easily and ran Ridehalgh in particular ragged all game.
An entertaining game and much needed and deserved 3 points for me with a cracking goal to win it.
The injuries to Wallace & Koumas do look quite bad and could be very costly to us just hope they are not as bad as they seem

Unfortunately my concerns re fonners have still not abated.
Watch him in the warm up, great shot stopper (as per the penalty) but not at keeping hold of the ball, or kicking.
Still concerns at to commanding the box, and coming off his line.
Too often, yesterday panic and uncertainty in defence, they all need a lesson in talking / shouting - commitment unquestioned from all of the back four I am pleased to say.
Other points, lowe's effort looked over the line from where isat, and Tyson was very lucky not to get a red card

Can't believe people still find criticising Fonners a top priority.
Man of the Match in the last two games and three good saves yesterday including the penalty. Their first goal was unfortunate but made up for but the great penalty save.
Time to lay off one of our best players recently and focus on more important matters I'd say!

Happy to lay off, once he cuts out the mistakes, and keeps a clean sheet.
I would be happy if he didn't have to make a save, but he needs to do more.
At least two instances yesterday, when defenders were shielding the ball waiting for him to come and collect, when we didn't and signalling as such.
Problem is he is starting to come, and then retreating, not a problem, if he is telling them to clear, or shouting 'away' but he isn't.
Correct me if I am wrong - happy to admit as such.

Acknowledge penalty save, but both goals yesterday were questionable, as was first oldham goal.
Fonners is a good shot stopper, but not a great keeper, a view shared by most of those around me, and by the away fans after the first goal.
As for apportioning blame, failure to hold/ catch the ball (watch how often he spills it) and poor kicking - gifting possession to the opposition, will necessitate that he makes more saves.
Is he solid, no- does he command the six yard box, area or defence - no.
Yes he makes saves, but often these arise as a result of his failure in respect of the above.

The first goal was a mistake from Fon the second a good free kick which I wouldn't blame him for. The biggest concern for me with him yesterday was his lack of communication with the back four.
Fonners should be shouting either clear it or my ball but continues not too.....he comes into no man's land and causes panic, that is his to deal with not the defenders. Improve that and he could play at a much higher level.

While I agree with the sentiment Sub, the criticism is valid. Fonners is an excellent shot stopper, but his handling and decision making is highly suspect. That said, if he didn't have some flaws he'd be capable of earning far more than we could pay him. I don't remember these problems being quite so noticeable in previous years, so maybe there is some blame to be attached to the defence and management as well. Bad mistake for the first goal, good save for the penalty (but it was a bad spot kick) and could do little about the free kick.
Let's hope the new ownership, when it arrives, adds a little positivity about the club and we can use that momentum to ride to safety.
I like Fonners, he does make a few mistakes, but this is League 1 not the Prem. But dont see any harm in givng Mooney a chance but also looking at the reserves results hes only had 3 clean sheets this season. And it might be a bit risky at such an important stage of the season to drop Fonners?
Mooney would be worth a shot if Tranmere had nothing to play for and were above the 50 point mark, but I agree, it's too risky right now.

No way Fonners should be dropped, but the coach should be working harder to correct the basic errors.
The fact he's been making them all season and still is says a lot about the coaching imo.
