Coventry City v Tranmere Rovers Match Discussion Thread

By Deadly Submarine
November 22 2013

If you can't make Tranmere's game away at Coventry City on Saturday afternoon, why not join in the banter right here with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend...

Following football even at League One level is pretty expensive these days and no matter how much you love the Rovers, it will sometimes be difficult to make the games in person whether it be the lengthy away trips, or for exiles living elsewhere in the UK or abroad, the home games too.

As a result, for those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, we at Total Tranmere will be providing this match discussion thread for you to discuss developments with the game.

Stadium - Northampton Town

Tranmere of course, travel to Northampton Town's Sixfields Stadium to face Coventry City in Sky Bet League One on Saturday afternoon, so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on?  You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been to watch the game live.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

Ea rly kick off, hope we are ready for a hard afternoon, watching them last week on tele, I believe if we don't get it right at the back, we could ship a few today.
A draw would be a great result.

2-0 to them, unfortunately!

According to the Prediction League, our subscribers are undecided on the outcome. More than half think it will be a home win, the rest a draw. At least the subscribers all believe we won't win.

It's time like this that the underdog shines through, I may change my prediction to an away win.

O k, not today!

Hopefully this is the catalyst of our season?

Great result against a decent team, lets hope we can build on this and do a reverse of last season.

Nice to see Wallace bag one on his return, we need to build on this and move forward.

Great result and lets hope our season takes off from now!

Moore on the return of Wallace before he game....

'He's not going to turn up then were going to win 5-0 every week'.

Funny that . Shows how much Ronnie knows about football...

Moore's comment on the sending off:-

"I'm disappointed in the sending off, I think the ref over reacted with the crowd. He had to clear it and the lad put his head there and he's ended up kicking him. At worst I think it's a yellow card. I don't see the sending off.''

The ''lad put his head there'' comment made me laugh but if those are his true thoughts, I presume we'll appeal.

Won't we?eye rolling smiley

For me the best result by any league side so far this season it was that good.

The best part of it all is for Wallace to finally come back and to cap it off with a goal brilliant for him.

Great awayday today in a strange atmosphere and almost empty ground. As ever if we score first we look convincing and we got the breaks when we needed them first half. Koumas, Taylor (until the red card) and Lowe were outstanding but a fine team effort and things are looking up.

A big and terrific result against a team, no doubt expected by some in footballing circles, to struggle under financial uncertainty, but were a 2 point a game team going into this one.

Kirby score, Lowe ha-trick, Koumas sets up, Wallce gets one, absolutely brilliant.

Wolves are a team with 1 loss and unbeaten in 10, but Tranmere are now 12 points in 7 games and 5 unbeaten and all the teams they've gotten points against were 4 top 8 sides, a team like Coventry with top 4 form and another team like Bristol City with 4 games unbeaten and a 10 goal striker.

Wolves should have reason to be more weary then if they'd been playing this fixture 10 weeks ago.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Unbelievable result today, would have liked to have known what the odds were of us scoring 5 at their place but I bet they'd have been high.

Just seen the goals on FLS and all were brilliant. Shame the idiot camera man missed the best goal of the day that being Lowe's lob from the byline for his hatrick. That tackle that Wallace put in to get his goal was incredible, the type of challenge you don't see someone make who's been out for over a year with a bad knee but he made it and won the ball and then scored.

However, can someone tell me how it's a penalty when Danny Holmes clearly gets pushed over by the striker and then gets the ball kicked at his hands. To make matters worse, he then gets a yellow for his troubles. If that wasn't bad enough, the red for Taylor was disgraceful. Yes his foot is high but he plays the ball and then the lad runs onto his foot. Two really bad decisions and I hope we decide to appeal against that red because they've got a good case.

If that is what happens when the team hates the manager and Ryan Lowe, and people predict a 3-1 loss, long may it continue.

Anyone know when we will find out result of PJ decision on who will take over? january. If trust doesnt 'win' willtheygive money back?

Mal, calm down weve been on an awful run since February and its only just looking a lot better, long may it continue.

If the Trust don't get control of the club the money will be refunded to individuals minus an admin fee. I guess will be at the end of the year when PJ makes a decision.
