Hartlepool Utd (H) Live Updates and Match Discussion

If you can't make Tranmere's game at home to Hartlepool United in NPower League One on Saturday afternoon, why not follow our live match updates right here and join in the banter right and with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend the game....
Following football even at League One level is pretty expensive these days and no matter how much you love the Rovers, it will sometimes be difficult to make the games in person whether it be the lengthy away trips, or for exiles living elsewhere in the UK or abroad, the home games too.
As a result, for those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, we at Total Tranmere will not only be providing this match discussion thread for you to discuss developments with the game, but in a brand new feature we will also be providing a live updates service from the game which will include team line-ups, score updates and also pictures and snippets live from the game.
Tranmere of course, host Hartlepool United in NPower League One on Saturday afternoon, so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on? You could use our live updates service to keep tabs on the action at the game and perhaps discuss other games in and around League One.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use. To follow our live match updates, click on the link below and select the link for the Hartlepool United game from the list.
Tomorrow match is either the end of season or the start of a possible kick start of a mini run of six games with out loss.
Needing a run of wwwdww and if it goes that way we all could be happy.
But none of the above day dream will happen if the do not go at Hartlepool from the start, theirs got to be no holding back go for goals from the kick off shoot on site no over playing the ball in the box, none of these short corners get it in the box none of these over played free kicks that seem to go no where.
Ronnie tell them to play football on the deck no hoof ball.
Go for goal attack from the start we need a win nothing else will do ,get that win under the belt, we than can take stock and see how the other results have gone and if they have gone our way we could see ourselves back in the top six at 5 pm tomorrow night.
If were back in that position it will put us in a good state for the Preston match.

Comrades the second half atmosphere in parts was amazing. We did our bit shame about the result. Renewed for next season even though I did find myself apologising to my two boys on the way home and explaining to both of them that yes it is always like this and that is why we love the rovers! Lets just hope we can stop the rot at Preston and be appreciative to the Bournemouth fans and players when they gain promotion at Prenton park in two weeks. This has been the best season I can remember since 2005 so we need to make sure we give the players the applause they deserve in the obligatory end of season trot round the pitch at the end of the game. We are all in this together players, managers come and go but we will always be the SWA!
It was simply unacceptable today. For a team that was still within a shout of the play offs, their performance was abysmal. There was no heart, no commitment and no drive and that is just shocking.
Sometimes I've been wondering what team I'm seeing in the last few games because the team who threw together 4 wins after the swindon defeat is long gone. I use that as a comparison because it's virtually the same team minus McGurk.
Hartlepool came here without any hope really but once they got the penalty (which was a shocking decision by the way), they seemed to have the edge. As a previous post commented, their striker No33 James, was outstanding today and easily the man of the match for me. It was interesting to see the players reactions when us in the Borough road started applauding him as he went off, they didn't look happy. If they'd have shown half of what he gave, then we would have won the game.
I also have to comment on the fact that Sidibie is a complete waste of money and Cole should start the last two games.

Sorry not interested in being 'appreciative' to Bournemouth. Still shaking my head in disbelief at our horrendous decline. Any feelgood factor for this season has been destroyed by the last two and a half months. Gutted.
Currently we are one of the if not worst team in the league, the fact we have lost against two of the bottom teams in last few weeks in the proof. If we have same players next season we will be in a relegation battle.
Matt, the play offs are a million miles away we will be lucky to score a goal in the last 2 games never mind win, we are playing awful and dont look like scoring
GK Fon 5/10. Did not come off his line for corners and that made us vulnerable to set pieces
RB Holmes 5.5/10: Linked up with bell Baggie well at times however his passing at times was awful.
CB Ash 4.5/10: To many long balls, no composure and James (Hartlepools Striker) got past Ash far to easily.
CB Gibson 4.5/10: Gibson shouts at his teammates where to go and where to pass it however he doesn't know what to do with ball himself also he doesn't know where to stand for example when James (Hartlepools striker) who played well tbf to him was running at Gibson from a tranmere corner he stood still and left ash Taylor to do it all on his own and nearly led to a Hartlepool goal.
LB Zoum 4/10: Didn't look intrested the whole match and he played like he wanted to leave tbh
Rm Bell Baggie 5.5/10: Tried his hardest, showed flashes of brilliant skill but his crosses were very poor again.
CM Power 5.5/10: Tried hard and played a few decent passes and crosses but not his best performance by a long way.
CM Palmer 5/10: Played ok did a decent tackles but was very innefective throughout the game. Unfortunately Ronnie will sign him up when his Shef Wed contract expires because Wednesday will not want to keep him because he's not championship quality.
LM Robbo 5/10: Gave 100% and had a ok game, he shown quality at times but he was shocking from set pieces today, his corners were woeful an so was his free kicks but I'm not blaming him for missed penalty tho cos it was a good save and the sand in penalty box slowed the ball down.
St Sidibe 3/10: I think he only won 1 header out all the long balls from Ash Taylor an that is poor 6foot 5 striker I hope he goes back to stoke ASAP so we can play cole for the last 2 games.
St Akpa Akpro 5/10: Held up the ball well and shown great pace and dribbling skills however he's lost his shooting accuracy since that injury.
Sub 1: Thompson 4.5/10: Didn't touch the ball much when he came on
Sub 2: Stockton 4.5/10: Had 1 decent effort on goal which was more than big mama did in 70mins.
Sub 3: O'Halllaron 4.5/10: Didn't touch the ball much.
I am intrigued by comments of how this season has been a success and the best for a long time (quotes on this thread and many others).
Has it? Or ultimately, is it going to end up being the most gut-wrenchingly disappointing season in living memory where we failed to capitalise on our greatest opportunity to win a promotion in an exceptionally weak division?
bigmart Mohammed, Palmer has anotehr 2 years on his contract at Sheff Wed so we wont be signing him in the near future.
As for the sand slowing down the ball from the pnealty, no it was just too close to the keeper.
Give the keeper some credit too for an excellent save.
matthew, I would say this season has been a damn sight better than the prvious 3 but ulimatly i dont think it has been a success as the way it is ending is very poor and very disappointing
The season seemed to change when we leading against Bournemouth 1-0 and then second half ended up getting beat 3-1..Obvious loss of james Wallace was never dealt with and hindsight ineffective strike force cost us.I feel Ronnie did what he could but was not given resources to try and mske it better. My worry is Wallace was on only a 2 year contract. Why not at least look at Damien Reeves for a real trial I.e. loan for 1 month with a view to buy etc.Ronnie has to have a plan to strengthen whether we were promoted or not.So if Zoom doesn't sign after season end like last time he at least will be moving on. Has to be total 180 minutes of commitment and desire to win especially with contracts to be renewed/extended last two games
The season obviously mainly changed when Wallace was injured and,to a lesser extent, when JLAA and Gibson were ruled out for long periods. It also turned for the worse big style when JLAA was sent off foolishly against Carlisle and our ''equaliser'' wrongly ruled out for offside. Also when Palmer was sent off against Shrewsbury and did not get supported by the manager or club. His form has never been the same since.
bigmart matt, think you can safely say the play offs are out of the question now.
All the rainbows in the sky
Start to weep, then say goodbye
You won't be seeing rainbows any more
Setting suns before they fall, Echo to you that's all that's all
But you'll see lonely sunset after all

And the singer of ''It's Over'' was Roy Orbison whose nickname was ''the Big O'' which is a very suitable description of our season.
