If you can't make Tranmere's game at home to Carlisle United in NPower League One on Saturday afternoon, why not follow our live match updates right here and join in the banter right and with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend......
Following football even at League One level is pretty expensive these days and no matter how much you love the Rovers, it will sometimes be difficult to make the games in person whether it be the lengthy away trips, or for exiles living elsewhere in the UK or abroad, the home games too.
As a result, for those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, we at Total Tranmere will not only be providing this match discussion thread for you to discuss developments with the game, but in a brand new feature we will also be providing a live updates service from the game which will include team line-ups, score updates and also pictures and snippets live from the game.
Tranmere of course, host Carlisle United in NPower League One on Saturday afternoon so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on? You could use our live updates service to keep tabs on the action at the game whilst discussing all the talking points right here on our discussion thread. You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been to watch the game live.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use. To follow our live match updates, click on the link below and select the link for the Carlisle United game from the list.
Very disappointing performance against a side we should be beating if we want to go up. Was Akpro sent off for foul and abusive language? If so his stupidity cost us the game and maybe automatic promotion. Thank God other results were in our favour. An opportunity thrown away.

Still not sure we'd ahve won it with 11 men but we'd have had a much better chance. Akpro has cost us big time with his petulant kick which deserved a red card.
That was worse display of the season for me. Utter disgrace lack of effort from the players. Akpro was a grade one @#$%& for kicking out. Any more games like that and we will finish 7th.
Poor, gave away ball, no mid field, JLAA sending off(he had to go)but what put the top hat on it they just did not turn up in the first half and you just can not do that. A bad day at the office.
It was a shocking first half performance today and it looked as though they got a rollocking at half time because they were better second half.
There is absolutely no excuse for Akpro, he kicked out and deserved to get a red. I'm hoping a fine and a severe bollocking from Ronnie will sort him out because he cost us today and we will now be without him again for 3 games.
Ash made a bad mistake and it cost us the goal but I think overall he had a fairly decent game. I was a bit perplexed with some of the substitutions. Why take McGurk off and bring on O'Hallaran when he did absolutely nothing. I would have also put Stockton on at the beginning of the second half because the lad can cause problems.
I thought the ref was appauling today, there must have been 5-6 handballs by Carlisle all of which were missed and at least 2 of them were in the box and definite penalties. We just didn't get a decision out of him all day and everytime we went near them they fell over and got the decision. However, I wouldn't saay this was an excuse for the loss.
It weas frustating today to see Doncaster, Swindon and Brentford dropping points and us not taking advantage but there's still 17 games left and we've got to dust ourselves off and go again at Orient next week.
The pitch was a bit lively so maybe he didn't consider any of the handballs were deliberate?. Mind you.the match was well over ten minutes old before he gave a free kick either way.
Lobby Ludd Aaahh! Saw your post on Chris from Warrington. You wouldn't be Dick from B'Head would you.
No indeed.Wrong in both cases. But I did once work with a guy who had two young sons called Tom and Harry who threw a huge wobbler when somebody jokingly suggested that all he needed now was a Dick
Still no apology from Akpro as yet I see. He will go down a lot in my estimations if we don't get some kind of apology. After all the fans have been great with him this season and he let us down big time yesterday.
up to his sending off akpo didn,t seem comfortable at all to me don,t know whether it was his recent injury although he looked lively when he came on against crawley, he was marked tightly but should have kept his composure, with hindsight i,d have brought goodison on to maybe just to help out taylor, as ronnie said very poor 1st half lets hope he can sort it for sat.
Yes I would agree with the comment about Akpro. There were three or 4 occasions when, after contact with one of their players,he either hobbled away, lay on the ground for a bit or looked in pain. All in the mind?

Hoots mon, yes the pitch was a bit lively and a few of the shouts were ridiculous as you can't whack a ball at someone and expect to get a penalty. However there was one incident in particular in the first half when there defender used his hand to control the ball, Henry esque if you like which was a blatant penalty. As I was sat right in front of it I thought it was one but the ref nor linesman who would have had a better view didn't give it. Like I said the refs performance was no excuse for the loss but it certainly didn't help matters.
I think the team where complete void of idea's yesterday and our passing and distribution looked like it had been been left on the training ground. While Carlisle harried and closed men down Rovers just stood off and watched. We looked so uncomfortable in defence while Carlisle were able with bags of time to pass it around and that was before Alpro was sent off. They also had one of those days when every ball, clearance,
& bad pass from Rovers seemed to find a player in green.
I think the sending off was about all the Ref managed to get right and I hope we never see him again at Rovers. Inept I think they call it and I wonder whether he may be given a Saturday off next week by the FA. Like a number of others I felt Stockton should have been in the side and that we should also try and get Gibson back on Loan to tighten the middle of the defence.
Was it just me or did anybody else think we had a good go 2nd half and played quite well considering we were a man down? Some stupid knee-jerk reactions as usual! we lost but as other teams dropped points it didn't massively cost us. to lose a man after 30 odd mins was always going to cost us. I thought we defended well and created some good chances. We bounce back from setbacks time and time again and I'm convinced we will on Saturday. We do, however, seem to start a bit slowly at home and only turn it on in the 2nd half which would be a bit of a concern but keep the faith, another game played and we are still top and a step closer to promotion!
Millo we lost but as other teams dropped points it didn't massively cost us
This is the key point here. People need to just take a step back and get a sense of perspective. We're still top of the league. Look elsewhere at the League One results on Saturday. As well as us losing to Carlisle, who'd have had Doncaster to lose to Bury and Brentford to get an absolute pasting from Yeovil (I know they're doing well, but...).
On top of that, Sheffield United continue to slip, as do MK Dons, and Swindon dropped more points.
We will drop more points this season, we will lose more games, probably ones we expect to win. But so will every other team in League One, and ultimately after every game we've lost this season, we've come back stronger.
The only team in the top 6 to win this Saturday was Bournemouth. I believe if we finish within one place of them (either above or below), we will go up.
Apro Akpro,s 3 match ban I hope will give Ronnie the opportunity to start Cole Stockton alongside Amoo up front...the lad is a model professional and has been waiting patiently for his chance....
I like Cole but for me he's more effective as a sub, he hasn't been quite as goos when he starts.I think Ronnie will hasten his search for a new forward and wouldn't suprise me if he has someone by Saturday.
Millo...how can you possibly argue that Cole doesn,t play well when he starts! but is much better when he comes on as sub! Out of 19 appearances he,s only started ONCE!!!!!!.
I agree, you cannot judge Cole on just one start..)
He adds something different to the team and is especially effective with his back to goal...He has shown he can score when he comes on, and is deserving of a starting berth...Would still like to see Cassidy back through!!!
well I can think of at least 2 games off the top of my head, Derby away and Braintree away so there's 2! I'm pretty sure there are more. I like Cole and he's done well as a sub when he's come on but I would rather we get someone in on loan with more experience and when you see that Ronnie has been after Chris O'Grady and Gary Madine, then these are experienced players who have scored goals at our level. Cole's time will come but for me I think he will be better as a sub for now.
IMO cole deserves a run in the team now. As for starts
Chesterfield away good solid first start and a cracking goal
Braintree lower league ok. Mom one goal and set up 2 ??
Chesterfield home. Got mom and another good goal.
Walsall unlucky to come off but whole team poor
Derby had a go at best strikers feeding off scraps and terrible defence.
3 goals from 5 starts is not effective for millo?
Agreed would love to get someone in with experience but cole IMO very effective
I said "for me" he's more efefctive as a sub and I stand by that. If I'm proved wrong then fair enough. I'd like to see him alongside someone with a bit of experience ideally rather than say Amoo or O'halloran.
Cole Stockton is a class act...Ronnie doesn,t dish out 2 year contracts willy-nilly.He will get his chance to start and myself and others on this site will expect Millo to eat a large piece of humble pie when he proves him wrong. He won,t let anyone down just like the other youngster we had to throw in at the deep end...Max Power and look how well he,s done.
I hope I am eating humble pie, I don't want the lad to fail I'm just not sure he is ready and clearly neither is our esteemed manager Ronnie otherwise he wouldn't be trying to bring others in! Would you have preferred Cole to Gary Madine of Sheff Wed? I wouldn't.
In fairness, if Ronnie thought Cole was ready for a game every week, he wouldn't be chasing players like Madine or O'Grady.
After all Rooney was younger than Cole, when Everton started playing him that season, when he scored that goal against Arsenal and he was probably used for about 2/3 of that season, with enough rest.
Cole could get more starts if Ronnie thought he would benefit, but clearly he wants a bit more experience right now, as I think he'd use him more if Tranmere were mid table, or perhaps close to relegation and looking for someone to change things around, but maybe he thinks the league situation is a bit "big" for Cole to work in on a weekly basis, when there's a lot at stake.
I'm sure when he's ready for it he'll give him more time.
Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.
