Rovers Sign Defender Golobart on Loan

Tranmere have today completed the signing of Wigan Athletic defender Roman Golobart on a months loan to cover for injuries to the current defenders in the squad....
On transfer deadline day, Tranmere have today signed Wigan Athletic defender Roman Golobart on a one month loan deal.
The 20-year old is starting his fourth season at the DW Stadium having joined the Premier League club from Espanyol in August 2009.
Roman spent the whole of the 2011-12 season on loan at Inverness Caledonian Thistle and helped them maintain their place in the Scottish Premier League aand in addition to that acheivement he was also voted their Player of the Season by Thistle supporters.
The arrival of Golobart to the club has become essential following a longer term injury to Ian Goodison, a knock picked up in the midweek cup game at Aston Villa by Ash Taylor, Mark McChrystal still needing a game or two in the reserves for fitness and also with Will Vaulks goin out on loan to Workington earlier in the month.
The signing could mean that Rovers have a loan centre back pairing of Ben Gibson and Roman Golobart for the home game against Colchester United tomorrow as Rovers look to continue their unbeaten start to the season in League One,
Speaking earlier about the signing of Golobart, Rovers boss Ronnie Moore said...
“I’m really pleased to bring Roman in from Wigan. With Ian Goodison injured, Ash Taylor picking up a knock at Aston Villa and Mark McChrystal still needing more games following his injury, we were short at the back so Roman is a welcome arrival."
“He’s a tall, dominant centre back who has good experience from his time in Scotland last season. Wigan rate him highly and I’m sure he’ll be a good addition to our back line.”

I just hope that Ronnie is applying long-term thinking and that his current treatment of squad players (e.g. sending them out on loan or letting them get "experience" in the reserves) is done with the aim of getting them to realise their full potential, not just because he doesn't rate them at all.
Still, that's going to be seven games from a Premier League defender for only one month's contribution to his wages so maybe it's not a bad bit of business!

Then again if Golobart's English is a bit pigeon to say the least, Ronnie might have to do quite a lot of waving and pointing on the training pitch and if Ronnie gets an injury, the team could be really stuffed

we might as well have a squad of 11 players and make the rest up with loans as its clear squad players aren't in the frame.
McChrystal could have easily stepped in for 1 game if not Kay.
I hope we dont get to january and then moan about no money being left to get a player in.
