Wolves striker extends loan deal with Tranmere

Tranmere Rovers have today extended the loan stay of young striker Jake Cassidy from Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers until the end of the season.

Cassidy, who has been wearing the number 18 shirt for Rovers, arrived at Prenton Park on an initial one-month loan deal on March 16th, a day before Tranmere's away trip to Sheffield United.

He has played in all four games since his arrival at the club, coming off the bench against Sheffield United, Rochdale and Exeter before starting a league match for the first time against Bury last Saturday.

In those four games, he's netted two goals, both of them the second strike in 2-0 wins over Rochdale and Exeter City, each scored with a different foot.

19-year old Welshman Cassidy is so far Ronnie Moore's only signing since his return to the club at the beginning of March.

The extension of his loan deal means that the Rovers boss now has five strikers at his disposal for the remainder of the season, with Adam McGurk having now recovered from his cheek injury and Mustafa Tiryaki having returned from a one month loan spell at Cambridge United.
