After Tranmere were held to a drab goalless draw at home to Bournemouth in NPower League One on Saturday afternoon, Rovers Boss Les Parry admitted that the draw was probably a fair result on the day.

Speaking to Tranmere Player, Parry said......

"Quite a few of those 18 shots went just past the post, they cleared one off the line and we clipped the crossbar but to be fair, whatever the statistics say a draw was the fair result.  They played the better football and probably had the more possession and we had the clearer chances."

"With ten minutes to go I had a horrible feeling they would nick one on the break so it was good we kept a clean sheet.  We weren't sharp (in the first half), we were losing the ball in poor areas and most of that was due to poor communication."

Parry Les

"You know you're not going to get penalties when they've had two good shouts in the first half.  We had two very similar ones so you have to shrug your shoulders and accept it.  It could have been two penalties each but it was no penalties each so that's ok."

"We put some quality crosses in the box and didn't get on the end of them.  We need to be attacking the ball. The one player attacking the ball today was Ash Taylor and that's not right.  Our forward players need to attack the ball better.

"We did half an hour on it yesterday, getting the ball wide, crossing it in and finishing it and to be honest it was as poor yesterday as it was today."

A draw wasnt a fair result as Bournmouth played the better football and it was only by their bad finishing that the game finished 0-0.You can see why both teams have only scored a small number of goals to date. Have we a ghost striker up front that enoch keeps trying to flick balls onto for I cannot see who they are supposed to be going too.Les should have made changes 15 minutes into the seconded half, not from the end and bringing Tiryaki & Zoom on when he did was just a joke. He has a great reluctance to try something different. No wonder the least ground in the league to see goals scored is PP.

If we (Bournemouth) can't take our chances then we are no better than a team who are not making the chances in the first place.
We had four forwards were expecting things from this season. One decamped to Burnley and then took a serious injury in training, a second (the best) announced his retirement due to injury the day after the transfer deadline, a third has been injured since the pre-season and number four has lost form.

At least Wes Thomas (the new guy) is doing a great job. He has to, two of the players who started the Playoff in Huddersfield are still with the club. One is out of favour and on the bench. With three more having left during last season (one scored 4 goals against you in 2 games) it feels like a war zone.

I would have expected good things from Symes as he did alright for you last season from what I remember and was a shrewd signing, although not possibly from Accrington's point of view.

Shame for them, but when you've got a 25 goal a season striker and arguable the 2nd smallest league budget, you'll not be able to remunerate the striker adequately enough to try and keep him.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Matt, there is no way symes will score 25 goals at this level.

As for the game it was poor yet again similar to the yeovil game and the relcutance of les to change tactics at home are clearly costing us as well as the lack of a goalscorer.

Now maybe people on here will understand the concern of others that the lack of goals from our strikers as well as elsewhere will cost us.

I wasn't saying he would Bigmart, but if he could do that in league 2, you could expect when you buy him to get around 15 in league 1. It's not like he jumped up from the conference to the Chamionship.

Bournemouth would have a right to be a touch dissapointed if he was only good for around 10 a season with assists.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.
