Following the release last week of Tranmere's pre-season schedule, a further game has been confirmed for the list whilst one of the away trips planned for a Saturday afternoon will now take place on Friday night instead.

Tranmere will face Heswall FC Youth on Tuesday 26th July at 7.00pm, just twenty four hours before a Manchester United XI come to Prenton Park in what is a packed pre-season for the Wirral club this summer.

It is expected that the game at Heswall against their youth side will feature a run-out for Tranmere's youngsters including new first year scholars alongside the those entering their second year in the youth setup.

Meanwhile the away match against Shrewsbury Town which had been scheduled for Saturday 30th July at 3.00pm will now take place a day earlier at 7.30pm on Friday 29th July.

As laready announced here on Total Tranmere, Les Parry's side will also face a number of local non-league clubs as they prepare for the 2011/12 season, although there are a number of notable omissions from the list, including Southport, Cammell Laird and Vauxhall Motors, all local Non-League sides who Tranmere have faced regularly for a number of years.

In total so far, Tranmere will play ten friendlies this summer, including, for the second successive year, trips to Shrewsbury, who this year suffered League Two play-off semi-final heartache following defeat to Torquay, Chester FC, Colwyn Bay and Marine.

The full first team fixture list is as follows:

Tuesday 12th July: Chester FC (A) - Kick Off 7:00pm

Friday 15th July: Colwyn Bay (A) - Kick Off 7.30pm

Saturday 16th July: Prestatyn Town (A) - Kick Off 3.00pm

Tuesday 19th July: Marine (A) - Kick Off 7.00pm

Friday 22nd July: Aberystwyth (A) - Kick Off 7.00pm

Saturday 23rd July: Altrincham (A) - Kick Off 3:00pm

Tuesday 26th July: Heswall Youth (A) - Kick Off 7.00pm

Wednesday 27th July: Manchester United XI (H) - Kick Off 7.30pm

Friday 29th July: Shrewsbury Town (A) - Kick Off 7.30pm

Tuesday 2nd August: Liverpool XI (H) - Kick Off 7.00pm

Games in Red are likely Youth Team Friendlies.

Tranmere Rovers' youth team may yet also play a number of friendlies this summer against local Welsh sides, such as Holyhead Hotspurs, Buckley, Flint Town United and Bangor City.

Total Tranmere will bring you those friendly dates if and when we hear of them.

What happened? Did they get pee'd off that they didn't get a £100,000+ a year sponsorship from the council?

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Their ground is owned by Lairds Social Club next door, who refused to let us play our reserve team games on Lairds' ground. So Lairds were stuck in the middle but we got angry because we agreed a contract with them to play our reserve team games there

Why would the social club refuse? If a few Tranmere fans wander in after a reserve game and buy some drinks and eats and possibly spend money on one or two other things, that's good for the social club.
