Four times European Cup winners and 22 times German League Champions are chasing teenage striking sensation Dale Jennings according to reports and information revealed today......
German side Bayern Munich are tracing Tranmere's teenage sensation Dale Jennings, according to reports in the media today.
The Daily Mail last night reported that the four times European Cup winners were interested in signing the player, before the story was picked up by local news streams, including the Liverpool Daily Post, this morning.
Tranmere boss Les Parry then stated today "There has been interest in Dale Jennings from Bayern Munich".
It is thought that Bayern Munich, who's season comes to a close this weekend with the club, who were Bundesliga Champions last season, not able to catch table topping Borussia Dortmand, are tracking Europe for the continent's best young stars as they look to regain the German crown next season.
Reports suggest that the club, currently under the leadership of caretaker manager Andries Jonker, want to take Jennings to the club on trial over the summer before deciding whether or not to place a bid on the player.
Tranmere are thought to be holding out for at least £1,000,000 for the young striking sensation, who scored six goals from 29 appearances this season, whilst they would also most likely ask for add on fees (based on goals, appearances and international appearances), as this is something they have done with past transfers, such as Jason Koumas, Ryan Taylor and Iain Hume.
Jennings, 18, burst on the scene at Prenton Park in the Autumn and became an immediate success, scoring some stunning goals against MK Dons (x2) and Bristol Rovers, though a hamstring injury halted his progress in the spring.
He only signed for Tranmere a couple of years ago after being released by Liverpool, but his incredible pace, eye for the outstanding goal and excellent vision have already made him a crucial player for the club, despite only being 17 when he made his debut.
Although Tranmere fans would most likely be disappointed to see Jennings leave, the potential transfer can only be good for the club, as it will raise the profile of not only the club as a whole, but also their youth development system for youngsters in the area, who will see what can happen to them if they sign for the club.

If I read rightly once, the Steve Davis deal to Derby,involved £250,000, then £275,000 for appearances and another £250,000 should he sold inside of 3 years.
I mean what the heck kind of sell on clause is that? You get an added fee if they sell him fairly quickly.
Then you end up with a deal worth £775,000, which probably would result in Tranmere getting £250,000 only if Derby are savvy enough.
Tranmere need a solid sell-on clause for Jennings and a decent fee. I think the sell-on should be around 20% and no stupid appearances rubbish, that allows them to play him sparingly then sell him on without having to cough up.

Tranmere should call Hodgson and do that Dale - Lateef partial swap. Lateef and a fat wedge.

We need to be really careful with Jenno, I would absolutely hate this to end up being decided by some idiots who think he is worth about 350k plus stupid clauses. If he won't sign an extension then I am afriad we need to be looking at selling this summer, and for a decent fee.

If we don't get a move on it WILL be Davies all over again. I have only just got over that one and could not take another cock-up by the club and a slap in the face from a young player who could have found himself in the West Cheshire league if not for the help and coaching we have given him after Liverpool decided he was more trouble than he was worth.
Davies was a money grabbing little s**t for what he done to our club who stood by him through a serious career threatening injury and paid his wages for the best part of a year whilst he recovered.

What about people like Koumas who signed a contract did he not to ensure we got a better fee, and played in L1 for a year with us?
At the time of the Davies stuff, LR commented upon how players like Ryan Taylor and Ian Hume were the complete opposite and still kept in touch with the club often visiting when they could etc.
I don't think it's fair to assume Dale would treat us like a few have and nor does it mean we should sell at the first sniff of ££.
I'd like to see the club hold out for as much as they can, seven figures up front and a sell on clause with perhaps money for appearances too would be enough to make me say sell, but nothing less!
If we could tie Dale down on a four year contract or something (obviously he won't be hear for four years like) but it'll raise his fee and perhaps mean we can have him for a year/two longer by which time he will be a better player and we could double, even triple what we are currently expecting to sell for.
That would wipe out the debt to PJ if we could get 3-4 million in 2 years.
1. We get another year of him in League One
2. We've already rejected bids of AT LEAST £600,000 - a tribunal would very much take this into account
3. We'd get more than £600,000 when taking into account add ons etc.
Good point Mikey about not tarring people with the same brush. It may well be that Dale is more like Koumas than Davies for example. However I am sure his agent will be feeding all sorts of info to him, telling him what he can earn etc.
It seems the majority of young players these days are badly advised and look out for number one. I think I am just extremely worried that the first valuable asset we have had in a long time will not fetch his true price.
