wiipatnevin 5-0, bye bye Swindle. Hope it's a decent crowd.
That will do me a 5-0 plus(6-1 ect)win to give them a good pushinto leauge 2 and help our goal difference to a 0 or plus standing on wards and upwards( a 1-0 win will do for the points but a 5-0 plus would be the icing on the cakeor the head on the pint after the game) come on you whites
Today summed up everything that has been wrong with this season. Long ball, no goals, no plan b and just really poor. The lack of a plan B was summed up when he put Goody up front and took Robinson off.
We played long far too much, surely McGurk is better when the ball is played to his feet. Kay has an absolute nightmare, he really was poor, Akins was back to his usual self.
People were getting ahead of themselves after a few good results. I have seen that type of performance far too often at home this season. We badly need a change and Les has to go, today brought it all back home as to why.
The whole team were bad today it was back to no passion no effort no plan A -B - C it was Swindon we were playing if this is the nucleus of the team Les is planning on next year it`s going to be another hard season what happened to the same team that played the last two games scoring 7 to 0 in those two games were they else where today was Cresswell/Jennings playing in new colours so no real effort from them two and as for the rest must have been in holiday mood and Les`s great plan was to send up Goody as main striker might be his new role next season, LES NOT GOOD FOR GETTING THOSE BUMS ON SEATS FOR NEXT YEAR
Welsh whilst good against the good sides breaking up play etc... for me isn't the type of player who will take the ball from the back and dictate the game.
Could write pages about to today but simple fact we were off the pace/not up for it and got what we deserved.
With that in mind very dissapointing for me that with lack of attacking options on the bench we didn't give cole stockton or max power a go, or other young lads who would have played with passion that was lacking today.
Still believe we have a squad building that can see us challenge at the right end of the table next year though with a few good additions.
Too many missed shots. Shades of the Rochdale 1-1.
Tranmere had a team this season, with the potential to sneak the playoffs, particularly in the second half of the season.
Tranmere could push for it next season, but Les needs to play it like he did in the last few games, barring this one.
Swindon were pants in the last few months of the season and this was a chance to beat them for the first time in a long while and Tranmere dropped a big bollock.
Then Swindon scored twice with it.
No finish with a flourish, but hopefully onwards and upwards.
Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.
they'd all been the races ! job done ! what did you expect ? sad not to see a bit more pride ! but I understand after a season that for them must have been as mutch of a trial for them, MOM for me Adam Mc ! need to hang on to him !
Team didn't look interested from the start. So many dire performances, so many lifeless and effortless performances. To name just some, Warner, Kay and Weir all had stinkers, whilst Akins, Welsh and Cresswell weren't at their best either.
McGurk looked ok up front, but finishing left a lot to be desired at times. He is strong though and held the ball up well. When Goody joined him in attack, which IMO was a good move as Robbo had been anonymous, we looked a little more damaging but couldn't really create any chances.
Our best chance at winning went when Dale missed that sitter at 1-0.
It's shocking how the team that won with such ease last weekend can turn up and be so poor seven days later.
Next season, we absolutely MUST cut this inconsistency out, as it's costing us points. We've got to improve our home record, especially against the bottom 6-8.
Usually I'd say don't change a winning team, but would have been nice to see the likes of Fraughan and Blanchard get a run out today to see if they really want to be here next season, as judging by today's performances, some or our players don't.
The result is so damaging too because a win would have seen us finish at least 13th. That looks so much better to potential new signings than 18th.
Players have to take the blame for not turning up whatsoever. Look at our bench and it's a far cry from one we've had in recent weeks as there were no attacking options on it at all so very difficult to change the game.
Yesterday`s win by Swindon was their 3rd win only this year since Jan 2011 and only their 4th since Nov 13th and it ended a run of 4 defeats shows up how bad we were yesterday
I know we had nothing to play for but for the fans their was passion pride finishing higher up the leauge and last the fact it was Swindon we were playing old scores in the past that have hurt us and the players should have been motivated by Les from the start ,Swindon were up for it if we had got in their faces from the start and opened the scoring they may have folded and later in the game Les could have used his subs just for a run out but no those players in white showed they did not care for the shirt on their back(apart from Goody that man puts his heart and soul in to it)
Wish the team had told us that their season had finished on 30th April. I persuaded 2 people to come with me who haven't been for ages. That's another 2 people who think i'm nuts for supporting them. Thanks a lot boys! I'll be back next season though and don't regret renewing my season ticket. I saw in PJ's bit we've had 2000 season tickets renewed so we should at least have some budget to work with. The most dissapointing thing for me is there's bound to have been some people in the crowd who may have been thinking of renewing theirs and won't after that 'performance'
Wish I'd have gone to the Tranmere legends night. I'm going to the Mersey Masters now definitely.
Finally forgive me for a final rant:
Why did it have to be 2-0 to Swindle? I hate them more than Bolton now!
Agree with Ricci. That was the normal performance of this mismanaged team. I could not understand the clamour, from some, for Les to keep his job. The last few games were blips on the graph from a truly awful season. Mismanaged by a man who is a Physio not a Manager. We have some talent so hopefully lets see it properly managed by someone else next season. Please Mr. Chairman do not make Les Manager as attendances will fall.
Totally agree Hugh-the usual signs were evident.Totally inept performance-no encouragement from the ''manager'' just hands in the pocket eyes looking at the ground-clueless.Get rid please.
The fact is Les didn't lose the game the players did.
In the last 7 games
1. Tranmere conceded 5 goals, (approximately a 0.7 goals a game ratio).
2. scored 12, (approximately a 1.7 goals a game ratio.
3. Had a +7 goal difference.
4. A total of 13 points out of 21 games, (approximately 65% form), a form guide that for a whole season would yield roughly 89 points. Note I'm not saying Trnmare could have done that.
He might have made judgement errors, particularly around the time he got just 2 points from 7 games, but the recent 7 games have yielded some darn good form and anyone who is giving his team, the outlet to get 14 chances in a match, can't be blamed when they miss 11 of them.
The players lost him the Swindon game, he didn't lose it.
Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.
cadburygorilla Get your facts right about Les doing nothing people.
I heard him shouting instructions from the back of the main stand on plenty of occasions.
Shame I could hear him but again prenton park had the atmosphere of a library.
'Hear' what you want to hear and 'see' what you want to see.I sit a lot closer than you-my facts are right.
