After another week of your votes, it has been decided by Rovers fans that Eugene Dadi is the second striker and therefore the final outfield player to take his place in our Tranmere Rovers Team of the Decade (2000’s).

As you can see from the poll results below it was one of the closest votes we have had so far with Eugene Dadi just taking the victory by just 8% from his closest challenger in Wayne Allison and by 11% from third placed Ian Thomas-Moore....

Eugene Dadi began his careers playing in France for Toulouse before moving to Britain to play for Aberdeen in August 2001.

After a season at Aberdeen where he made 23 starts and scored 5 goals, Eugene moved on to Livingston and spent another year in Scotland with them before signing for Rovers in August 2003 having made 19 starts and scored just three goals for them.

His two year Rovers career saw a relatively uneventful first season although Dadi did put Tranmere ahead in the famous FA Cup replay win at the Reebok Stadium before unveiling a t-shirt tribute to strike partner Simon Haworth who had broken his leg away at Brentford earlier in the week – an image that still remains iconic of his time at Rovers to this day.

Dadi Eugene

The season after saw Rovers miss out on promotion after finishing third to Luton Town and Hull City before losing on penalties to Hartlepool United in the play-off semi-finals at Prenton Park.

Dadi did begin the following pre-season as a Rovers player but before a ball had barely been kicked competitively, he left for Nottingham Forest on a free transfer having made 54 starts and scored 28 goals in his two years at Prenton Park.

His Forest career lasted just a year just like all of his spells at other Clubs apart from Tranmere and his time in Nottingham also included a loan spell on the other side of the River Trent at Notts County between January and May 2006.  Dadi then moved to Australia to play for Perth Glory.

So our Team of the Decade for the 2000’s now looks like this, withthe playing staff now completed......

So now that the playing staff are complete, who will you vote as the Man to manage Achterberg, Roberts, Taylor, Goodison, Hill, Koumas, Hume, Henry, Jones, Greenacre and Dadi next in the Team of the Decade (2000’s)?

In the next week you will be voting for the best Manager of the last decade (2000’s) and at the end of the week the winner will be revealed and placed as Manager of our Dream Team.

Stay tuned tomorrow for the launch of our Manager poll.
