Rovers extend loan stay of right-back Michael Kay from Sunderland.....

Article Header - Breaking News

Tranmere Rovers boss Les Parry has today extended the loan stay of right-back Michael Kay until the end of the season from Premier League side Sunderland.

Kay arrived at Prenton Park in early January and has impressed since making his debut against Walsall, winning plaudits in all four of the games he has played so far.

The former England U-17 international, who was on loan at Gateshead earlier in the season, had to complete the deal today, otherwise Tranmere would have only been able to extend the deal by a further two months.

The deal to sign Kay, who has been with Sunderland since the age of eight, appears to be Rovers' only movement in the transfer market on Deadline Day, with Dale Jennings looking set to stay at the club as the 11pm deadline looms.

Good news about Kay[:wor kid:]staying till end of season all we need now is a late bid for Fernando Torres(Sm22)trouble is it may use up all the transfer budget up.

Les triumphs again. Good work helping to get the job done by getting the best from Kay and making him feel happy about staying smiling smiley.

IF Sunderland ever binned Kay come May / June, I wouldn't put it past Kay to do a Labadie and consider signing on a 2-3 year deal, or Les to pounce for him as fast as he did for Labadie, because I think he'd have plenty of positive reasons to choose Rovers in the Summer.

I've noticed elsewhere that Jermaine Grandison signed a two-and-a-half year deal with Shrewsbury on a free transfer.

Hopefully he can continue the form he has shown so far. If so, great signing.

On the club site weve agreed a deal with sunderland to sign Kay on permanent deal but have to agree terms with layer & agent (the agent is colin todd) be good news if can sign him.

Also Lateef on a youth loan so we can extend month by month for the rest of the season if need be.
