For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the high number of costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.

The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match analysis.

Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game.

Stadium - Walsall

Tranmere of course travel to fellow early strugglers Walsall in N Power League One on Saturday afternoon, so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on.

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.

You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

Admin staff will try and add the team and updates on the game onthis thread where possible but these details are updated also on our Twitter Page throughout the game so if you're not following us already why not do so at www.twitter.com/totaltranmere.

On the Prediction League I've gone for 2-0 to Walsall but I'm hopeful of a better result than that today.

Just put half time draw/full time draw down as my bet, 7/2 are the odds. I think there's a good chance we'll get something from today and I think the squad will be beginning to get a lot more confident on a whole due to the amount of players coming back from injury

4-1 WIN. I am nearly speechless! Cannot believe it! First time we've scored four or more away from home for nearly six years, since the 5-1 win over Wrexham on January 15th 2005. Absolutely stunning result. We've hammered them. This shows just what we can do with a fully fit squad...and we're not even fully fit yet. Give Les a break guys, now ITM and Labs are back, we could be a force - and that with Ash and Broomes to come (plus Mahon and McGurk)

an amazing result not one i saw coming and to score 4 goals away is incredible, lets hope we can build on it in the league now and beat mk dons next saturday.

Although we are still in the bottom 4 things certainly look better now, a week is a long time in football eh.

Well now Moore is back and hopefully Broomes at least maybe on the bench, (I thought he'd be on it this week possibly), the added experience in the match day squad, might permit Les to feel as if McClaren is not per requirements anymore.

I wanted McClaren to be a bit more talismanic this season and look deserving of selction, but I do feel now he is detrimental and needs to be sidelined.

I'm a bit bummed that Leyton Orient drew and Brentford won.

Though it looks like there's 7 league places for grabs next week, which won't happen of course, but it does improve Tranmeres chances of getting out of the bottom 4 if they beat Dons.

I was a little concerned seeing Walsall's form since that Devaney guy arrived on loan, as I thought it might make the match and the expectation of the result, (considering the Legaue cup win), a lot harder.

Great win and now Tranmere need to kick on from this.

Great win(Sm128) but as they say one swallow does not make a summer(Sm157) (I know winter coming up)but let`s see if we can kick off from here with a win against MKD thumbs downand climb out of the bottom four and up the table but we need the same effort in the next few league games and a settled
squad with Ash Taylor Marlon Broomes Adam McGurk added to
the squad in the coming weeks glad to see Joss Labadie and ITM back and Blanchard in for McLaren(not the player he was at this moment) but it is back to back league wins we need(around 33 (Sm22) on the trot(Sm160) would do) but any way a good run would be a change might be good to rest Showunmi
on Tuesday and perhaps one or two more but would give ITM a run against Stockport be nice to beat them but at this time league wins are priority not Johnson`s cup thingy(Sm80)so come on you whites keep shooting(Sm148)from all parts of the pitch and we might score four again if we do not take pot shoots we do not score and for weeks since the start of the season thats been lacking.

The difference today? Hard to say really.

Walsall were absolutely shocking throughout and probably as bad if not worse than a lot of teams we have played this season.....

..however that should not detract from arguably the best defensive display Rovers have put on this season as well as an assured and hard working attacking display led by the Ian Thomas-Moore of old - he was fantastic throughout.

Having defended Moore in the past on here, even I have had to admit in the past few weeks that he has looked lost and uninterested but after hearing in the week that his problems were behind him it more than showed today as he tracked back to help the defence, chased down lost causes and added that 'spark' to the attack.

Assisted by the best performance Joss Labadie has put in this season by far and a blistering second half (but quiet first half) showing from Dale Jennings the result was never really in doubt.

A word too for a lot of people's Man of the Match after the game Max Blanchard whose job in front of the back four was effective to say the least whilst Scott Wootton showed his higher level ability today both on and off the ball.

One key factor about today's game was just after Walsall scored to make it 2-1. At that point the way we have played in recent games we could have panicked and let Walsall come onto us but instead we attacked them from the restart and had two great chances to increase the lead and that was a key factor.

Not getting carried away given the quality of the opposition in particular but a massively important win and a good performance all round!!

What a difference a week makes in football!! After last weeks rubbish showing today everyone worked their socks off for each other. Like I said after last weeks match that we missed joss Labadie and the know how of ITM. Well today we got both and both showed their class in a good team performance. Even our Goalkeeper Gulacsi who took some undeserved criticism last week had an excellent game. Lets hope the team turns up in the same frame of mind next week against MK Dons.

They may not have been good today Walsall, but in fairness since Devaney joined them, their form had picked up and they could have been bouyed by that, especially as the game was on their ground.

It alwqays looked like a different proposition to the cup game, but the form is now important. Tranmere cannot ride on the back of one performance.

They now average 1 goal a fame and roughly 1.5 goals a game conceded, so the concession level is not all that bad overall and hopefully now the goal scoring rate can perk up a bit.

At least Tranmere have kept clean sheets this season. Though ironically Walsall's goal kept their goal diference higher than Tranmere's, (-7 as opposed to -8 for Tranmere), which would have bene the other way round, if they'd failed to score the goal, or if Macken had signed for Tranmere and couldn't score for them (Sm7)

I'm not saying that this one win changes things from a whole perspective (which is what those negative people will argue), but it annoys me that there is no appearance from those people to say anything positive at all after a win - especially a win of this size.

I agree some will not alwyas view Les in the way he hope to be viewed but some of the overall nagativity is dumb.

The critics like their little kick Les in the balls moments, then they just slither off like Skinks, back under a rock, when they know they'll take some grief for it, they can't deal with.

If they don't like things that much, they should all stump up a collective total of around £250,000-£500,000+ a season, of their own money, to help Les buy better players and get better results (Sm7).

Before any one says whay I haven't posted after a win etc etc, I have been away from home since the game. Also if you look I posted straight after the Bristol victory.

Does the Walsall result change my views on les? Not at all, I still think he is stubborn in his ways, the football is dreadful and he is just not a manager. Doesen't mean to say I am not delighted at the result from saturday.

Would Mclaren have played if he was fit? Maybe, no coincidence he didn't and we won. The acid test is winning back to back league games. If we get battered at home to Mk next week is everyone going to say"oh but it doesen't matter because we won last week".

The fact is we are still in the bottom three. We need to put a run together so we can climb away from danger. One win every now and then isn't enough. Just because I dislike Les it doesen't mean I want us to lose, which I think some posters do which is just ridiculous.
