For
those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season,
particularly the high number of costly and time consuming southern away
games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread
on the Site for every Rovers game.
The
thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up
and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match
analysis.
Where
possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and
substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game.
Tranmere

You

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

throughout the game so if you're not following us already why not do so
at www.twitter.com/totaltranmere.
Southampton, have score 2 penalties in hteir last 2 home games sicne Adkins took over. No goals in open play.
Tranmere have managed to keep 3 clean sheets in all competitions awya this season.
If it wasn't for the 2 penalities at Bornemouth, they'd have 2 points at home. They do have 4 at home, but Tranmere could have had 6 points from their last 2 games, if the referee against Brighton had been more aware.
Tranmere have scored 9 goals in their last 9 games, Southampton have 3, 1 open play one.
I htikn there is a chance Tranmere can get something out of the game. Last season 3-0 at St Mary's is not likely to happen again. Though laws of causality and all that, means it's possible, even to any minute degree.
Hopefully either 1-0 Tranmere or at least 1-1 or 0-0.
Nearly held out unti half time, Bottom as it stand which is depressing, really need to start putting a few wins on the baord, draws are not good enough, especially at home.
Oh dear 2-0 defeat we were up against it from the start no Mr Cool(Ian Goodison) in the back four two young centre backs and no Joss Labadie did not help so we slip further down in pecking order trouble being the longer we go on with out back to back wins the deeper we may get into the quicksandof the bottom four other teams
around may seem to manage that so before November kicks in we need seven points from the next three games so Les it`s time to go for it like they did in the 2nd half of last weeks home draw(Brighton)if not it`s the trap door beginning to open I know it`s not Les`s fault but the cards he has been dealt some may call for his head but no one else would come here with Peter Johnson`s game plan what ever that is.
With loanees making up most of the team and with injuries to our more experienced players or crocs that we have signed on that nobody else wanted never known so many injuried players in one team and when they are fit who we get back in McLaren can not see what he does for the team it`s going to be a long hard winter and not many goals going in the right net.Stll trying to figure out who going to score these goals(apart from Showunmi to date) I do not think Morrow going to set the league alight with his total, oh well some thing might happen to turn Prento Park back to the fortress it once was theirs all ways hope . Come on the Super Whites
listened on M'side, can't remember hearing mclarens name ! tough fixture at the best of time ! getting 11 to start a chalengs with so many injured, then to lose Joss ! really bad to get beat again, but not unexpected at st mary's ! I think some will struggle to keep the deficit to two
Never thought we would get anything from this game but possibly the most disapointing thing is seeing McLaren's name in the starting line up. Regardless of the loss of Jos, surely Fraughan would have been a better bet. I really don't like him and I think his prescence in the team has such a negative effect on other players, it's not even worth considering him because he doesn't add anything to the side.
I hoped I would never see him on the pitch again all season so I'm bitterly dissapointed to see him on the pitch today. Not that I'm blaming him entirely for today's defeat far from it, as I mentioned at the top, i never expected to get anything today.
Of the 11 games we've played now 7 of them were against teams in the top half, the 8th was against Southampton, so theres room for optomism but we have to start winning against teams such as Brentford next Saturday.
I'm not sure who was meant to marking Lambert for the first either as it was at the far end from us but it was as easy and free a header as he's likely to get.
The other thing as well is, the gap between Tranmere and the Playoffs only increased from 6 to 7 points, so there's a good chance given the current climate in league 1, that if Tranmere could win the next 2 games, they could get some serious league places off the back of them.
Matt he number of points we are off the play off places is totally irrelevant as we will be nowhere near them come the end of the season, we will be battling to stay up.
yeah fair point the big problem being winning those games when we only score 1 goal a game. We have to have a really good go at them next saturday from the off and put them under ressure early.
Perhaps part of the reason that seven or eight teams that we have played are in the top half of the league because most of them have taken the three points we have given them mainly because we can not score goals we manage sometimes to get one in the net but to get two or more would be like seeing UFO these days,is their anybody out there that can score for the superwhites(and that title is loking grey these days.
Mikey What was Mr Wood doing for the second, pro footballer and thats how he "closes" a man down in the area?
Mikey, I was at the game and at the time thought the same, but having seen it now on TV, I think he may have been right to hold his position and wait for cover. To be fair, I thought Wood and Wooton had decent games in difficult circiumstances, we set out the stall for a negative draw and had no plab B
A draw was a respectable result but not earth shattering and the best thing about it was the manner of play. The loss on Saturday was equally no surprise but the worst thing about it was again the manner of it.Southampton wasted so many chances but that the score could really have been dire.
We looked inferior in every area and yet Southampton did not look like promotion contenders. The frailties of the defence were exposed by a lack of pace in mid field and poor defence cover from Jennings and Lucas which left both full backs more exposed than they should have been.
It really made it strange that even with so many injiries that there was no place for Zoom. When did we last win a game with Maclaren playing. In our current situation he seems an extavagent luxury. At one time he was seen as a good passer of the ball but he was rarely in the game and I cannot recall him making apass of any significance. He surely is not in the team for anf defensive qualities.
I know it was only for a brief period that he was on the pitch but Morrow looked lost. I really do think that the conclusion will soon be that he is inferior to Gornall and Curran and they are still young enough to get better.

Last win with McLaren in the team was Exeter, and even then we were only 1 up before he went off after 52 mins. Last time he played a full game and we won was Gillingham away all the way back in February. He did feature in wins against Orient, Southampton, and Exeter though, but even they were in March.
If he never got injured last April we'd be in League Two right now.
I am increasingly becoming a bit bored and disillusioned with Tranmere Rovers at the moment to be honest. it just seems we roll up to games, accept we are going to get beat and that is it. Of course Southampton is an extremely difficult game at the best of times, but I have heard from a few who went that the way we played was awful.
Of course we all know we are not great to watch, and I think this may be another factor. But everything at the moment is just stale. parts of the gorund closed, disinterested owner and most of the time boring football being played. Still onwards and upwards against Brentford I suppose.
Yes, I meant about the two upcoming games being ones that could propel Tranemre up the table.
I too would like Tranmere to be a bit more open and flowing, but until Les gets a budget that allows him to sign more experienced players that have a bit more consistency and a bit more invention and bite, the way they play sometimes is largely not going to change.
People are also talking about a boost in goals, just wondering if some of the Eugine Dadi doubters, are now reconsidering the probably now defunked possibility of a return.
why would anybody reconsider dadi? we are paying 4-3-3 he is not a winger so no point in signing him.
we can play more expansive if we switched to 4-4-2 which i would have fraughan on the left & either try jennings or ITM on the right, too often enoch flicks the ball on and there is nobody close enough to him to get the ball.
Interesting points, call for a right winger, lack of pace in midfield and lack of cover privided by Jennings and Atkins, the fastest winger the club has is Mackreth, he also puts in plenty of hard work covering the ground providing defensive cover, were is he !
Deadly, I posted areply on this thread and it hasn't appeared.
I arrived at the TTFC page after reviewing then posting.
Could you find it and transfer it on to this thread.
It was fairly lengthy and at my age, can't remember it!
