Another product of the successful Tranmere Rovers Centre of Excellence, Aaron Cresswell made his Tranmere debut during the 2008/09 season as a replacement for the injured Andy Taylor away to MK Dons in November 2008.

Putting in a hugely impressive performance, Cresswell went on to make fourteen appearances for the Rovers first-team that season, and a further seventeen during the 2009/10 campaign, though the arrival of Zoumana Bakayogo quickly forced him out of the left-back slot.

A very capable defender, Cresswell never ducks out of a challenge and has plenty of pace, leading to many calling for him to play as a left sided midfielder, a role he has played for the Tranmere reserve and youth teams.

Cresswell is also excellent with a dead-ball, able to hit the target powerfully with free-kicks and capable of taking corners too.  A fantastic crosser of the ball, the youngster could be one to watch for the future should he get more of a chance in the first team this season.
