Young winger signs his first professioanl contract with Tranmere Rovers

Tranmere Rovers youth and reserve team winger Jack MacKreth has today signed his first professional contract with the club.

An exciting 18-year old, MacKreth has been with Tranmere since the age of 13, and has been a regular in not only the club's U-18 side, but also their reserve team, in his two years as a scholar with the club.

The incredibly quick youngster spent part of last season on loan at Cammell Laird FC, where he picked up some valuable experience playing competative adult football.

With skill and pace to boot, MacKreth, who is strong in front of goal and is also a terrific dribbler, signs a deal that will keep him at the club for next season at least, though Tranmere Rovers haven't confirmed the length of the contract.

On the signing of MacKreth, Rovers manager Les Parry stated "Jack is a promising young winger who I'm pleased will be in the first team squad next season".

would have liked to have seen 2 years - if he's any good he might start coming into the team by the second half of the season just when he's about to expire

He's about to expire! I like the way you phrased that Mike:p

I guess a new deal can be negotiated mid-season if needs be and if he looks decent.

yeah thats what will happen just like ash. He signed a new one round new year if i right. If he does get into the team there will be a new contract 4 him i think. I wonder which of the other players will sign?
